Hey Everyone,
I have front and rear carpeting out of my 100 I'd like to clean up. (Actually pieced together a "new" kit from a few members.) Anyway, it's nicer than what's in mine now but still needs a cleaning. I thought about taking it to a rug cleaner I've used before for house area rugs but didn't know if that would potentially screw up the molded parts of it.
Maybe just rent a cleaner? I have access to a power washer as well but thought it might be overkill, maybe I'm wrong. Any tips appreciated on soaps or process. My other option was to just have the detailer do them when I get the truck detailed in a few weeks.
Hope you're all well!

Ive done many times, pull carpet, use a mixture of ammonia and pine sol.

Spray with squirt bootle, then take pressure washer and watch it come clean.

Let the carpet sit in sun over lawn chairs or table for couple days to dry.

My old beater Camry had a bad windshield leak and the floors were filled with water, mosquito larva, algae, god knows what else, and had been like that for 6 months. Extra funky. I pulled the carpet out, hung it on the fence and started power washing it to knock the real bad stuff off. Then grabbed a bunch of laundry detergent and scrubbed it in with a soft scrub brush followed by more power washing. Let it dry, reinstalled and it's seriously like new, minus where it looks like bleach was spilled on it by the prior owner before the floorboard pond issue. Plus it smells like clean laundry inside the car for months.

Awesome, thanks to both of you. Sounds like basically going at it with a power washer is a good idea. Going to be in the 40s for the next week, which is a bummer, but I think saving some scratch it's worth waiting. Someone mentioned Simple Green once as well if I remember correctly...

Make sure you like the smell of whatever it is you use. Even if rinsed really well and air dried, on a humid, hot day with the LC closed up, you'll still smell whatever you used to clean the carpets. So, chose wisely, then power wash to your heart's content.

I dumped used motor oil on my rear floorboard a few years ago. Pulled the carpet, and alternated between power washing and hot water with Simple Green and a scrub brush. Finished with (edit: Folex) after a few days of hang drying, which doesn't really need to be rinsed. Enjoy your clean(er) carpet!

I'm looking forward to it. Just bought the Lund floor mats as well and they're working great, makes me more anxious to get the new carpet all cleaned up, and stay clean.

I sunk mine in a river and it dried in the sun after a thorough powerwash cleaning just fine:)

I'm going to try this stuff today. Also going to try Krud Kutter. And the STP stuff too. Will post results.
