On the same lever, at the other end, had a hard time removing the knob. Needed to heat it to red....

It has been a while since I rebuilt mine. If I recall, that too has a roll pin. These two attached pictures show an indentation that is filled with filler or paint. Each picture is 180 degrees from each other. So I am imagining one pin goes all the way through.
