Finally got a winch, and after spending some time on Pirate, crumbled under the pressure to go with synthetic rope. The weight savings, about 50# for me, as well as the safety factor are huge benefits! Got to looking around, and there's a local place that cuts, splices, terminates, whatever, right down the road in Lawrence.

CUSTOM SPLICE - PRODUCT FEATURES

Todd has been wonderful to work with, accomodating, and very quick. He'll ship it to you, or I just had my wife stop by on the way to work. And if you show up there, you get to meet the very friendly office (social) manager yellow lab, and a very cool parting gift (that we will use on our travels & wheeling events)!

So check it out if you're in the market, and maybe I'll even snap a photo for the visual junkies.

Now you get a winch. Could have used a little help down in Texas. Then again, after seeing your throwing arm, I am not sure if you could have gotten a line to us.

Looks like a good place to get line from.

Thanks for the link. I just got done with my winch refresh, and will be ordering some line from these guys.

Getting the line to you wasn't the problem, it was the purse throwing I seemed to struggle with :flipoff2:

Looks like they have lots of options via his web site, what did you go with?

I went with overkill 3/8" x 85', he makes extensions if you need more, which would be a great idea. But I didn't too much extra on the drum with no pull power.
