I'm trying to nail down my chores and schedule for this weekend, then will contact you to see what's convenient for you.
Well, the wife's travel schedule changed for this weekend, which "naturally" changed my schedule. I won't be able to drop by this weekend (if you were going to be around.) Supposedly next weekend I'll have some flexibility!
Realistically, it's not as big a milestone, but I think for the psyche that moving out that body is a big step forward. Congrats on the progress!

So I finished my second cost on saturday morning. After looking at it a few times while drying and after drying, I don't think it needs another one. So we've decided to leave it. I ordered my spring perches and new bushings with greaseable shackles and pins on Thursday recieved the perches and they the wrong size. They are 2.5 wide instead of the stock spring 2.75 wide. So I have to figure that out tomorrow and hopefully get another set sooner than later. I'll be using ruff stuff perches and anti wrap/ traction bar, 4x4 labs 6 bolt hi steer, a cut and turn, and 37" MTRs with the double brad locks from the military. Then later this summer well be putting in ARBs, 4.88 ring and pinion and long fields and probably a bilstein shock. Now my question is, since I have never performed a Cut an Turn, does anyone have a tech writeup on it? I looked and found nothing except people talking about doing it. If there isn't one, I'll do it and make one, which I probably still will. Thanks for the input and help. As it is needed.

Here is some info on a C&T, done to my FJ60s front axle. Granted it is SUA but basically the same thing for SOA. We cut the crap off with a torch but a plasma or grinder will work too. We simply set castor using a digital angle finder. It worked will and my front end is super sweet now. I can do 65mph in 4wd on pavement with zero vibrations. You should get the same results with SOA.

If I was you, I sure would be protecting myself when painting. I am not familiar with the paint you are using but in general most automotive paint is nasty stuff. Even just a filter mask may not be enough to protect you. If you are planning to paint lot's more, such as the body you may want to look into a fresh air system.
Hobby air, pro air, Fresh air respirator, SUPPLIED AIR RESPIRATOR, Axis, Citation, 3M, Bill Hirsch car care.
