Printle receiver

Looking to buy a printle receiver and need some input on the two types, with 2" ball or hook. Is there and advantage to one or the other or is it personal preference? I will be towing a M101A with the orignal eyelet on it. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Mike,
The pintle I have (use) has the 2" ball integral to the pintle. I have never had any issues with it or towing my M716 (flat bed version of the M417). I don't have any experience with the other pintle hook configuration. If you are looking for more, you may want to post this in the trailer tech section. Good luck.

Larry - thanks for the info. The hook is 1/2 the price of the ball-combo, so I am not sure which way I will go.

Sid, thanks. I need all the help I can get with the English language. It is the most difficult language in the universe and spell check does not always know what you are really meaning. I am not sure how this will help with the decision to purchase the hook or ball-combo Pintle hitch receiver.

Go with the one with the ball on it. Gives you more flexibility without having to carry another accessory.
