ACD Club: The Reunion and Meets

If you don't dig old cars.
They are going to be "drag racing" Duesenbergs at the Kendallville Airport this Friday afternoon. I live just a small hay field away from the airport. They have 60 Duesenbergs registered and a total of 250 cars parading through town to end at the airport. The 250 will also include Auburns and Cords.
If anybody gets a wild hair, let me know, I'm taking off Fri afternoon.
I'll post up some pics and vid afterwards.

By the way.....parade lap through town is suppose to be police escorted at 1:30 pm Friday, airport by 2:00. Racing at 3:30 and sometime inbetween is where the WWII B-25 bomber lands along with a few other vintage aircraft.

I just read that most of the Duesenbergs that are registered are "J" models which is suppose to be the nicest most powerful Duesys.

I took a look at a 40 out in Mundelein a few months back. The old timer had 3 pole barns filled with some amazing old cars. Notably 2 Dusenbergs and an Auburn. As much as I tried, I could not get wood looking at them. The Hemi- Cuda on the other hand is in the spank bank!

Personally, I get wood easy. See a Chevy Vega...get wood, Ford Pinto...wood, the whole series of ugly Ford body styles in the mid to late 70's...serious wood, weriod imports..wood, even cool old bicyles...wood, many motorcyles...wood, love RV's....wood, rub up against a tree....wood, most new vehicles....NO wood, green '08 Mustang Bullitt....massive wood.

This was a really cool day. They had 71 Duesenbergs show up. The largest gathering of Duesenbergs ever. That is 15% of all Dueseys ever made.
The only diasappointment was that we couldn't get any closer than 200 ft of the runway for the "drags" because of the B-25 landing.
