Is "1985" a typo. Land Rover did not use the "Defender" name and badging until the 90's. Prior to that the long wheel base was simply referred to as the Land Rover 110.
Just curious...............1978HJ45

Very asute. It is a 1985 "110". Which most grant the name Defender to, retrospectively. As you know, they are the same truck. Of course, this one is much improved since first for sale on the dealer lot in 1985!

Why didn't my lottery numbers come in...

Good luck with the sale.

Tough economy............but I wish you luck with the sell.
( Seeing it makes me think about my long gone D-90)

I'm interested in seeing how fast this sells when perfectly good cruisers wont go for more than 20k. I'm not putting down your ad in case it comes across this way I'm just separated from the Rover crowd so I have no idea what one is worth

I am sure that this Cruiser crowd appreciates a good 4x4 as much as anyone but your targeted audience may be better reached on Ebay. Just a thought................1978HJ45

Dan, is this titled / registered as a diesel? I sent this link to a friend in Georgia, since he owns two Land Rovers. He will send this link to his Land Rover club members there.

Imported from Uk with LHD?

So the extensive restoration included a change in drive side or are the photos reversed? ( I think defenders are easier to change sides than cruisers, am I wrong?)
Still I think it is too way too much buckchees, my quarter cent. I spent some good time watching defender and series sales last year to be too impressed. For my money there are way too many great cruisers out there. Screw my English heritage, and you can get a good defender for half that or less.

exrsa1, Yes, it is registered as a diesel. The truck was originally built as a diesel.

Arjun, no, it is not. I live in the UK most of the year for my job, so I had this truck built and imported it, myself.

Madogeoff, well, you are right, you can get a real nice defender for half the price of this one. But, all Defenders aren't created equal. This truck was built with nearly all new parts including interior, body and powertrain. You won't find a nicer Defender, anywhere!

For comparison: Defender 110, US federalized, Diesel - Luxury4Play.com

Good luck with the sale and I hope you get every dime. That is a beautiful truck. I've spent some time with the Rover group here in Atlanta and seen some very nice 110's. That crowd would certainly appreciate what you have there... not that this crowd wouldn't

Look them up though it seems like someone has already pointed this add in that direction.

I want one of these bad ! This one looks to be exceptional. Good luck with your sale, worth every penny.
