When doing T-belt. I, do a 1282B skim coat into pits, in the block, under the water pump gasket.

I replace both T-belt bearings/pulleys. I make sure to seal (I use Toyota 103 oil FIPG) thread of tensioner pulley bolt.
I use a torque wrench on ever bolt and mark with paint after.

I almost always replace the fan bracket. FSM states: Any oil passes seal, remove & replace (R&R).

If fan belt tensioner bearing or tension weak, R&R tensioner ASSY.
If fan belt idler pulley bearing weak, R&R.

I drain coolant from block, both sides. So very good time to R&R thermostat and heater T's if old.

Wheel bearings & knuckle service.
Over 250K miles axle needle bearing and (brass bushing if worn) should be replace. As should most wheel bearings. Which I also replace knuckle and wheel hub seals and gasket, lock washers, snap ring and grease caps at minimum.

Ball joints need inspecting, any play R&R. If not replacing ball joints, because not needed. I re-boot them 9 out of 10 times these days. Which buys additional years of use.

Radiator
service front diff if you think youll be doing anything wild that would risk blowing it (or preemptively put a locker in it 👽)
Heater hose T's and applicable rubber hoses
Clean out sunroof drains just in case
Not sure if you said wheel bearings
If you're doing the booster and all might as well service calipers and put new pads and rotors on becuase why not?
Check parking brake
2 Spares just in case

Thanks! Wheel bearings are on the list, I did some researches and see that JT Outfitters has wheel bearing kits, are they good? I know them from my FJ40 days but heaven’t dealed with them for many years
I inspected the brakes and they all looks good since it was done recently by the Master Mechanics.
I have been thinking about the Eaton e-locker for the front with that FZJ80 f/r locker switch. I have ARB lockers on my 40 and got tired of the leaking air. Thanks guys

Dealing with a 28 year old 300,000 mile LC is like opening a box of chocolate, full of good surprises :). Inspected the sparkplugs and ignition coils, most of the coils have cracked boots. Look likes rockauto has Denso coils, 8 for $500 or something, are they good??? Thanks guys

Denso is and was the factory provider for Toyota ignition coils. The Densos from Rock Auto are completely sufficient. Some will claim that Dealer provided, Toyota branded Denso coils are better. I have not been presented compelling evidence that that's true. The Densos from RockAuto literally have the Toyota name milled off the surface of the coils they sell.

Can there be fakes out there in the market. Yes. Ebay especially. From RockAuto? I don't think I've ever heard of that happening with them.

Will do both fuel pump and filter, the Toyota fuel pump is soooo ex$pensive, I heard Denso no longer make these, anyone kinw of another good fuel pump source beside Toyota ($500?). Thx guys
My mechanic used HKT GIP601s in both my main tank and sub tank. He said the Toyota ones are too expensive and he uses these instead. They are made in Japan and he hasn't had any failures.

Not that I would notice unless they failed, but they both seem to work fine, and they've been in for about 8 months.

Nice that you got back your Cruiser, I sold many vehicles that never seen again and still regret my decision.

For a trip like this I'd start with increasing my Amex credit limits..:p The rest is available all over the continent.

I planned (and actively got some parts and spares) a similar route to ride with my old as f#@k KLR650, then life, kids and commitments happened and got in the back burner. It'll be Great to revive the flame using the LC to go with the whole family!

Did you get to the plans on how to cross the Darien yet?

Oh cool too see another ADV rider, I rode across America then I did the 1st leg riding from California to Alaska, Now I retire and love to ride the last leg to Argentina but I have been thinking about something smaller like a CRF300 Rally. Here’s my F650GS (it’s actually a 800cc) at Death Valley NP . Just like a motorcycle we have to ship it to Columbia

I found my Toyota CV reboot kit but the Toyota greases included in kit are missing, I don’t think Toyota sell greases separately. Any know what grease should I use? I remember Toyota uses different grease for each end

Try @cruiserpatch , he sells the kit, and I believe he sources the grease separately since I think his kit comes with 4 tubes instead of 2:

Thanks guys! I was lucky to source a new set of Bora 1.25” spacers for a pretty good deal. Costco called said my BFG KO3 285/75R16 tires are ready to be installed, I like to keep 16" stock wheels which have more wall when airing down, maybe I will repaint them. But I need lift the truck first. Any good deal out there for a OME HD kit and a Eaton E-locker for the front IFS? Memorial Day sale?

I can barely see anything through the cloud of money flying in the air! ;) 🍻
The ARB bumper looks good, I would like to fit a set of fog light onto this bumper, anybody knows which light would fit? There’s sale on white knucle sliders, I think I’ll order a set
