Ron’s Blaylock aka @Papalud ’s youngest son Finn is in Batson Children’s Hospital with what looks like cancer near the base of his brain stem and down into his spine.

They have sent off samples to see what type and how they will fight it. This will take 3-4 days so in the mean time they are in the hospital with him.

In fact he mean time please lift up this great CottonLand family in your thought and prayers.

@AndyO78FJ40 is on the treatment team and he says the neuro Oncologist at UMC is as good as they get so that’s a great relief.

Pray for Finn and family.

Monday update :

Asked if they were still waiting on test results

““Yes. About to do an ICU transport over to medical mall to do radiation mapping on spine. This is to prep so as soon as diagnosis come back they can start radiation or chemo, based on type of tumor. “

Also he said his house was packed with food so they are covered there.

Prayers for the family and treatment team.

Tuesday Update

“Putting in a port today and will start emergency Chemo most likely in the morning. Tumors on spine are of critical danger and so we want to get ahead of game and try to shrink them enough to get us out of that emergent danger. His vitals are good, still able to move hands and toes. Tumors are very unusual in their development so there's going to be extensive pathology. Our oncologist is talking to docs at St. Jude's and Harvard about his case. Chemo will last 3 days, then they watch for 2 weeks and study pathology and then a new MRI to see how effective chemo has been. At that point we'll have a good picture of what we're dealing with.”

Unless he has a miraculous tumor shrink after the chemo he’s likely to be in the hospital during the 2 week wait.

Your on all our hearts and minds. Your precious child is our concern and we hope. We pray. We think of you and we wish we were powerful enough to simply make this go away. We don’t know how we could do anything to help ourselves, our family or you. So we ask God to take it from us and heal. Father, we ask that you will heal Finn Blaylock. Comfort his family and guide them in hope love and healing. In Jesus I pray

“Been a rough couple of days emotionally. We have a name now: Embryoral Neuroectodermal tumor. Google if you want to be terrified. It's very aggressive and tough to kill and Finn's is a highly unusual presentation. There's no surgical option because of how widespread it is throughout his spine. We're 2 days into chemo and he seems to be handling it pretty well.

Tomorrow is last day of this emergency round. Next we wait 10 days while it does it's thing and hope for some physical improvements that would mean there is tumor shrinking along his spine and in brain. The current compression is near critical level. If we get through the 10 days and have some improvement then we do another round of chemo or start radiation.

Then another MRI to see what kind of results we're getting, then we keep pushing. It's gonna be a long fight, but there's a great team working on it and Finn's a strong kid. Good news is he's maintaining good strong vitals and still has movement in hands and toes.

We still need all the prayers we can get. It truly is in God's hands and we're trying to be prepared for whatever He chooses for Finn.

Other good news is that our Neuro Oncologist found a recent case of a 23 year old with very similar presentation of the same type tumors. He's still alive 2 years later and she's reaching out to his doctor. Our case is so unusual that there's doctors following it from St. Jude's, Harvard, UCLA, Boston and Washington. I'm confident we're moving forward in the best direction possible and pulling all the big guns. Please pray and thank everyone following this and praying for us. It means everything.”
