Prado 120 sub tank in a GX470 - has anyone done it? Well I’m gonna try!

I am sure people would buy these if they could, but I don’t know how you would ship them to the US.
I am still trying to find these two parts - the wiring harness and the fuel tube grommet
just pack in a box and send, we can send up to 14kg/30.6 lbs through a standard post office.
what is the part number of this wiring and pipe attachment?

I was assuming shipping would be restricted because they contain(ed) fuel unless the tank was thoroughly cleaned out. I don’t think you could ship via air and can’t ship overseas via ground, the only other option would be by boat. I am basing this on what is restricted for shipping in the USA.

I think the way to do this is to get every possible part off of the truck in your market once we have a master list. If this can be done somewhat on the cheap I’m quite interested.

Slow on updates lately, life gets in the way. I have placed what hopefully will be the final orders, so following is the master parts list, this is pending install so subject to minor changes. Note that I had to order from multiple suppliers in UAE and Japan to get all the items.
If all goes according to plan I should be able to install some time in June.

@ZIDCONPRO I can't speak for anyone else but a big reason I'm interested in this OEM tank is that every 3rd party tank I've researched 1) had to use a loud pump to push fuel into the original tank 2) gives unreliable fuel readings 3) has finicky performance when it came to pumping fuel from the auxiliary tank to the original tank.
That said, I'd still be open to getting a 3rd party tank, especially if it's the only realistic option on the market.
Can't guarantee these issues don't exist with this OEM long range tank but I'm excited that someone is doing the leg work to find out!

I tihnk that anyone wanting an aux tank is rooting for @Toyoland66 . Something like this using stock parts means OEM quality and reliability.

Hey everyone. Sorry for no updates, things have been busy and I haven’t had time to work on this. My GX is my DD and I need a weekend to do the swap. The tank and all the parts are sitting in my shop, just waiting for time to do it.
I hate to say it, but based on my experience doing it first time you’ll probably want to budget the rig being down for 5 days minimum. Depends if you need partsnlocal or parts shipped. Probably only one non weekend day if parts locally available.

You swapped a prado sub tank with all factory parts?
I pioneered the 200 series factory sub tank install. Pioneering there is always a few things that come up. I’m optimistic @Toyoland66 will succeed, but not optimistic it’ll drop right in in 8-12 hours. I hope to be proven wrong.
By the third install all the kinks would be worked out, the parts list finalized, and smooth sailing with an accurate timetable and action list.
