I ordered my pump from O'Reilly's - part number 732-2137. Can't remember if the plugs were metric or standard, but it definitely fit.
From a tip from another MUDer, I took out the stud bolts (not sure that's what they are called) and put in regular bolts so that the studs wouldn't be sticking out the back. Cleaner look and no chance of the studs rubbing against hoses.
 
Well, I'm well and truly stuck now. I have a new pump, I have a new high pressure line, and I can NOT get them connected. This new setup is acting exactly like the last one did: I can get about 1.5 turns out of the nut on the high pressure line and then it binds up to the point that it's hard to turn with a wrench. The fitting is nowhere near tight, but the nut thinks it's getting tight. And this is happening on my workbench so I can be sure I'm getting a good angle on it. I'm afraid to crank it down for fear that I'm cross threading it, so now I'm just...stuck.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Offers to buy my truck?
 
I put the Sag pump on with the kit from Georg and had no issues...the Toyota OEM hose threaded in fine...I know that's no help to you right now. Since you've got it out here's what I would do.

A) take your Sag pump to Ace Hardware, Fastenal etc & find a bolt that WILL thread in there. Note the size & pitch. That way you will know exactly what size you need on your high pressure line.
B) buy, beg or borrow a 'thread pitch measuring tool' and determine exactly what thread pitch your current HP line is.

Match the 2 and you should be good. I've got to think the issues is with buggered up threads on your OEM HP lines.

Ding-ding-ding! Looks like that’s the problem. The fitting on the hose accepts a M16 x 1.5 nut, but here’s the pump fitting threading quite happily onto a 5/8-18 bolt. And I somehow managed to get TWO pumps like this.

Great, now you're on the road to recovery. I was wondering about that but discounted it thinking you wouldn't have found two in a row with the incorrect pitch. Well, now you know what to do.

Actually, I don't know what to do. I've ordered two pumps and gotten it wrong twice while ordering what everyone else is getting. Autozone doesn't have a pump with the proper fitting and they don't have an adapter for that fitting. What other options are there?

Here's what I don't get: How is it that EVERYONE who's done this conversion has gotten a pump with a metric fitting but I got TWO with standard? Georg himself says you need "Autozone pump #7023" -- which is what I ordered -- and there are lots of people in the Saginaw conversion kit thread who got that pump and had zero problems, so WTF is going on that I got something different? I just left Autozone and the guy didn't know what to tell me -- it says big as life right there on their product page that the outlet size is 5/8'' X 18. It doesn't look like they even offer one with a metric fitting. So what am I missing here? The ONLY thing I can think is that Georg specifies a Duralast pump while mine is Endurance -- but that's the pump that comes up on Autozone if you search for #7023.

I just checked my records & a little over a year ago I did the same as @Rusto.

Got the Sag pump from Oriellys (not Autozone). Sag pump # from Oriellys was 732-2137.

I'd take your Autozone unit back and go to Oriellys...check the thread pitch before you pay.

Lol. Just checked O’Reilly’s website: 5/8-18 fitting on that part number. But I’ve found one at my Autozone that appears to be same pump with metric fitting. I’ll grab it tomorrow. Third time’s the charm?

EDIT: Nope, 3rd time was not the charm -- that pump requires an O-ring fitting, not a flare. Still looking...

I must have gotten lucky on the fitting. That was the last thing I connected when changing mine. Had i had your experience @Two Buck , I would have been just as pissed.

@Two Buck order this one, specificy that it has to be metric and measure it before paying.

Nope. Volvo 242 is a different pump. Trust me, I just spent 30 minute at Autozone having them go through all the 70s-80s Volvo 242 pumps and they’re all wrong.
 
What's different about it?

You could also have an outfit make up a new high pressure line with the fittings to fit your pump and the Toyota box.
 
Two Buck - For what it's worth - I am about to venture down this road on my conversion (I have the kit from George, just haven't purchased the pump yet)...and after reading this thread I am more prepared and know what to look out for. I realize that doesn't help you much or get your truck back together any quicker, but please know that your a$$-pain is understood and ultimately helping others...if I ever meet you I'll gladly buy you many drinks.:beer::beer::beer:. :rofl: LOL, well I'm glad someone's getting something positive out of this. I'm sure I'll feel differently once I finally get through this and the truck is functional again, but my feeling now is that if I knew then what I know now, I absolutely would NOT do this conversion.
 
When was the last time you spoke with Georg about this curren issue? He's helpful and will offer more informed solutions. Btw...we feel your pain.

I haven't actually talked to him, but we've traded emails; latest one was this morning. His advice is basically "force it" or "get a Volvo fitting."
 
Hey @Two Buck mine is leaking worse than before, i just noticed . Looks like mine didn't go as smoothly as I thought either.

Can't tell exaclty where it's leaking just yet, but my hard line with the 17mm doesn't seem to be going in as far as it should.

Looks like I may have the same problem
