Possible oil pump tick?

Well dang
There are a number of wise people on this site that think replacing the HB should be on the PM or Refresh list. Clearly it can do a fair bit of damage if it separates fully, but perhaps the belt tension reduces the risk of that outcome somewhat. I decided to go with one from the dealer and it was not cheap. RockAuto now has a few at different price points, I have no clue as to the quality but I also find it hard to believe there is enough demand for this thing to have several manufacturers tool up production.

Yeah copy that. I have one ordered with a new bolt from PartSouq. When I had it off I noticed separation starting on the back rubber.

An update after more replacing parts and troubleshooting. The new HB didn’t resolve the noise. I have taken it to a few experienced techs in my area with their guidance I popped the lower oil pan off to see if there was any loose hardware sitting in the bottom of the upper pan, didn’t find anything with my bore scope or magnet. But I did find loose FIPG and fine metal like sand. I made sure to check the baffle and oil pickup tube to make sure they were tight and there was not movement in either. I took the valve cover off and measured my valve clearances and one exhaust valve on cylinder #4 was one thou off on the high end of spec. Looked in all my cylinders with the bore scope all but #4 piston head looked normal. Also looked in the timing chain cover and found a crack in the housing. I’m at a loss and will be brining it back to the mechanic that did the head job.

Are you sure that is a crack? looks like FIPG strings to me.

It was not. I’m unfamiliar with the bushing. Where exactly is it?

I wonder if you could pull it out with this kit.. Amazon.com: Yuesstloo 10Pcs Motorcycle Bearing Extractor Puller Tool Kit, Professional Blind Hole Inner Bearing Extractor & Removal Tool Set for 8-25mm Bearings, Suitable for Various Motorcycle Wheel Bearings : Automotive - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DZG41R8F?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_3
I use this for pulling bearings where you can't push from the other side.
Gotcha. I would need the timing cover off if I wanted to replace that right?
never had to replace but, yes i'm not aware of any other way - and that opens yet another can of worms
