can you still travel and tow at highway speeds with these things?

I didn’t specifically ask about towing, but I did express my concern for heat soak given the type of highways we have here in the US. The distributor here said they ran these on the highway for extended periods in 100° temps and used a FLIR gun to check the gearboxes and have never had a reading over 150°.

Rob? Wolfworx portals? He showed me the image of the FLIR readout - the rear diff was 30F hotter than the portal boxes!

Yep him—I started to go deep down the portal rabbit hole about 3-4 weeks ago and spent a bit of time picking his brain

Are the wolfworx 6 lug though? Or was I reading something wrong

so are we going to split shipping costs on 2 sets of portals for a 200?!?!?!
I’m actually really curious about the 74Weld kit now too—I knew they existed for the Tacoma/4Runner, but didn’t know they had a 200 series kit under development. Their history with race/trophy trucks is confidence inspiring as is the fact they are USA based and it’s relatively easy to ship parts if they break or are forgotten.

Nothing against Werewolf of course—the fact they can keep cranking these out in the middle of a war is great and everyone I’ve spoken to said they’re always very quick to respond. I just want to make sure I’m doing my due diligence and exhausting every avenue to make sure I’m picking the most ideal solution for my situation before sinking a ton of money.

I'm with you. It's a tough decision since each company has vastly different specs for gear reduction, height, weights per portal box, and even their maintenance specs.

There's a guy who has an LX on 40s with portals who was at COTR at Windrock. Gobs of clearance, though the tires stick out a lot. They shipped from Ukraine I think, he had to do a ton of work to install them, and despite being $20k they didn't come with any instructions.
