That’s a good price from what I understand
It came in a few hundred less than what we agreed on thanks to the partial tax law from the California BOE. I had another one picked out (Clark) for about the same price, but it was quite a bit older; '86 model. I looked at a few of the newer Toyota lifts and they were 7-12K for the size and condition I as looking at. One of the guys in the complex knew of this lift and knew the guy was about to trade it in for a bigger one. So, we spoke and made the deal. He was expecting to get 4-6K in trade in.
So far I have to say that the other guys in the complex I'm in are great resources for ANYTHING you need. If someone brings up something they need or need help with... all of them help out to find that something.
One guy makes candle molds and he was showing me around his shop and had an OLD foot shear that the cutting arm had snapped on and he couldn't find a replacement. I asked why he didn't just weld it back up. His reply was simply... I don't know a welder and the shops wanted 5-600$ to make the repair. I asked if I cold take a crack at it. I used my neighbors forklift to bring the shear into my shop and cleaned the arm and ran a few passes of Certanium 89 TIG on it. All I had was 5/32" rod, thank god it was thick cast... Took it back over and the guy was beside himself. Feels good to do things for people.
I was told by the guy on the other side of me to save my money and I could just use his forklift.... But, I can't do that, just doesn't seem right.
