Congrats on the new 60!

I understand your addiction too well.

Dig those floor mats.

Would be interested to hear your feedback on the terrain tamer lift if you go that way. Want to do a 2-3" lift for my '84 before the year is over.

Cheers!

Ed,

I had a Terrain Tamer lift on a previous rig. I had an offroad shop special order it in for me a few years ago. They are well made kits and high quality parts. The rig sat level on all corners and had a very similar to OE ride comfort. IIRC they make a comfort and a HD constant kit. @orangefj45 can shine some light on this.

Quick dig through 2 of my 13 OE boxes yielded:

Fuel filter
LARGE OE Oil filter
Euro mirrors
Denso spark plugs
Wiper blades
Mobil 1 HM synthetic oil (old school SL API rating-NLA....still have 12 gallons :flipoff2:)

If you want to enjoy driving it on the street, my vote is 31s (or 30s).

I was extremely impressed that it hit 79mph, top speed (tried like hell for 80--- NOT HAPPENING.. HA) yesterday on the interstate with 30 x 9.5 x 15s- Kelly Safari mudders... So, I agree and am pretty set on the 31 route.

31s definitely. Nothing like cruising down the interstates and getting the thumbs up from fellow travelers. Besides that you can always keep a spare set of wheels and 33s when you want to put the supreme off road abilities of our dear FJ60s to use.

Nice find Andrea! ....LOL
looks like a great base line rig. looking forward to seeing the transformation!
low miles too.

She thinks so TOO!....:lol::lol:... She even said I need to change my "project" offroad trailer build to SUA and put the new RTT on it. She's a pretty smart and UNDERSTANDING GAL!

Yes, if I were bumping to the 62 3rds and a 5 speed the 33s are perfect. I loved that combo on Marley.

It's great when our significant others are on the same page as us and keep there eyes out for cruisers!
My gal is pretty keen on spotting around here also!
Sends me pics all the time!

In our area the 40s and 60s are pretty rare and stick out like a sore thumb... HARD TO MISS... But, like I said she is the one that got me addicted to them so ITS HER FAULT AND HAS TO DEAL WITH IT NOW!

Deep down, she loves them and likes them being around the house.

Yes, my wife loves my 60, she occasionally drives it when she can pry my hands off the steering wheel. The first time she drove it years ago, she called me and asked how to put it into reverse, all kinds of disasters flashed before my eyes. Since then she has learned how special the old truck is to me and is VERY careful when she does drive it lol.

Congrats, sounds like an another cool project from you, keep us posted!

Nice cup holder btw.

Good thing the cup holder is removable.... It hits my knee when driving.. Will need to replace it with a back console dual cup holder like this one... :grinpimp:
