Posting this for OldIron here on Mud:
Sorry I cannot get to mud from work, but I
have an 88 GMC2500 4x4. Odometer says 51 K but I know that is wrong though
I believe it is just under 100K. The motor (350 TBI) has an oil leak at the
cooler line on the filter housing. My mechanic says it is likely a 10$
gasket. Worse case replacing the housing for about $150 while the motor is
out. Tranny is a 700R4 which the PO said was recently rebuilt. I am doing
the same swap and only need a motor which I am using out of a second 88 I
got in a package deal. I trust the PO who is a good friend of a good
friend. The motor is complete and running though I do not like to run it
since the oil leak is pretty bad. I have only driven this in my yard and
have not run for more than probably 15 minutes. I have it posted on CL for
$800 but will certainly entertain offers as I need the space. PM me or
email to pmhubby@yahoo.com. Email and I can respond soon but will not be
able to access PM until later tonight/tomorrow morning. Truck is in NH.
Thanks, and good luck either way.
