Those are the cases that Trinble used to use on their GPS units.

They suck.. If you get any het on them, they warp, and the plastic latches pinch your fingers.

Hate em.

Pellican cases last longer and are easier to use with their new latch.

Mil-surplus ammo cans. Lots of different sizes available, low cost, rugged and water proof. Add you own padding when needed.

I have a Pelican for my small digital camera. All of my other electronics ride in amo cans when on the trail. If it's not in use, it's in the can. I've lost three cameras, a video camera and a couple of radios due to water crosings gone bad over the years.

Finally learned my lesson. :(

I have several Pelican cases and most are used for firearms and camera eqip. You get what you pay for! But I did see some cool cases on Slees website. These might work for you? I think I will get a few. The case for the rack looks cool..............

I've got a couple of these Contico cargo cases from Wal-Mart. They're 32"x17"x13" and cost about $18 per case. Lightweight and, as far as I can tell, fairly water proof, well they haven't leaked yet up on the roof rack.

There is nothing out there that compares to pelican....

Period.

My company puts our in-house products in pelican case 1600 and 1520 series to sell. I get them at cost which is killer because otherwise I would have never discovered them... I have five 1600 and one 1520. I made my cargo shelf just high enough to fit these cases without them rattling... yes... designed my shelf around the cases because they are that awesome.

Dry bags work to keep dust and moisture away from stuff like clothing and sleeping bags. I wouldn't trust them to be "water proof" but they will take a quick dunk and keep your stuff dry.

Ammo cans are great, a bit heavy, but durable and completly water/dust proof. If you store stuff in them long term (tools, medical supplies) add a couple of silica bags or any moisture from the atmosphere will corrode/mildew anything stored in them. Yes they are that water tight.

I have a big mil-spec aluminium x-ray box that is great. It weighs about the same as a plastic container of the same size. 100% water/dust tight.

Isn't StormCase both better and cheaper? Made in the USA too!

IMO, no. We resale a product for a company and they come in these already for us to sale. I'll see if I can't get side-by-side pics...

I have 5 pelican cases and love them.
If you look in the right places...including here on this site, you can often find deals.

I bought a couple of my cases on ebay for a fraction of the retail price. They were used, but in great shape. I think I paid 40 bucks (which included shipping) each for a couple 1550 cases...not too bad.

You want cases?
You can find almost any size case here.It may have been dropped out of a c-130 a few times, but no worse for the wear. Nice guy to deal with.

Wow! Those are serious cases. If I wanted to seal my body parts so they would be frozen and then thaw them in the future, I would use those. Seriously though, I will look into those. I am a surveyor, and I would like some good solid cases to keep equipment in and those fit the bill.

IMHO Hardigg makes the toughest stuff out there. They are molded to stack so they do not shift. His inventory is always changing.
