Just an outsiders view but your lack of on-line registration is hurting your numbers. You need to find a way to get one hooked up. Talk to Brian at Ih8mud and see if he can do a temp site for you. At least an on line spot to put yourself down as yea or nay. I now that there are at least four trucks comming from Springfield that are not registered yet. I would be shocked if you didnt have 40 people interested.

:o GCC does all there posting through Yahoo and I am so used to talking club issues though email that I forgot this was on mud so i guess asking "Woody" for help would have looked better than Brain at Ih8mud. To many irons in the fire:o

...3 WoW.

How about a serious push on Mud. Post up in the sanctioned events and other spot. Hit all the other clubs. I know more people are interested. I just havent given it much though since it was pushed into October. I have four Trucks that are going and will get them to register. October sounds like a long way off and I am sure its just not on peoples minds. I would Really hate to see this event canceled!!

I know from reading the Gateway cruisers clubhouse that several of them are planning on attending and have posted there for them to try and register early. Mike, you could post on the texas sites. I have never been to any TLCA event that didnt have a group from Texas at the party. ( just asking mike)

I would say that I dont want to step on anyones toes, but I have nothing to lose but a great event and they way things are looking it may be gone anyway so here goes. There are 8 pages of "Tornado Alley Cruisers Introductions" and there are only 3 people signed up??? Most of the events I have gone to are fueled by Sponsor member excitement. If you cant get TAC members to register then its going to be hard to get other folks to do it. Anyone thats been to this event knows its at a great location and at a prefect weather time of year. YOU all need to get signed up and then each one of you go out and remind someone or tell someone how much fun it is. I can't believe you dont have 20 members that are willing to show up to this event. The TAC name is on the event so I hope that some or most of you are willing make this happen. I am happy to send in my form and work on my mates, but I am more than a little discouraged by this turn of events.

I have no toes, so no problem. I was waiting until September to register although I had every intention of going. Our club usually has a great turnout for this and other club events.
Bet that since the "call out", the registrations will flow and be adequate enough to secure the event and many will come in at the last minute.
There were several Spgfld guys there 2 years ago, so how many of you guys can come this year?

The largest hit to the event right now is that those who have done it the last two years are typically to "core group" that take charge of most of the club business. This year many if not all of those folks aren't able to attend to various reasons and that has put us behind the 8-ball.

Deb & I were going to run the kids events, but due to a schedule conflict with an event at church, our largest fund raiser of the year that funds our mission teams (one of which I co-chair) & trips. Bob Garrett will be in Texas for work, Chris & Shannon who have run registration are doubtful for the event, etc. It's that same ol' problem of 10% of the people do 90% of the work.

No doubt the price of oil and the economy has had a negative on wheelin' events across the country as well.

Now is the time for those who "might be able help" to step up and, to quote a friend of mine, "PAR-TIS-I-PATE"! TAC is one of the largest clubs in TLCA.

Seems like Thad dun called us out folks....... What are we gonna 'bout this????

I for one will buy a registration and give to the first club member that steps up handle kids for the event! Yep, organize and run a few games and maybe a raffle for the young'uns and Deb & I will pay your registration! Next I'll smoke up 3 pork butts, pull 'em and freeze 'em and figure out some way to get to Ed to take to the event.

Let's get this thing going.... someone take me up my offer!

OK folks, listen up...

After a few Captain & caffiene-free diet Cokes I'm feeling pretty liberal about not holding back any punches regarding the event. Since I don't ever attend the meetings in KC I usually keep my mouth shut but from a marketing perspective here's the story....

Outside of TT the only event promotional effort has been this distant corner of 'mud. That combined with a lack of online registration and high fuel prices gives everyone an easy excuse to "forget" about the event.

Looking at the events section of 'mud I don't see a single post advertising it. Every year I somehow miss one TT so I haven't received an issue promoting the event or how to register for it.

I feel like a horse's ass being critical of the efforts so far but as someone looking forward to the annual TAC FN I have to admit I've even been a little confused on dates and how to register. It's an honest perspective.

So rather than just comment, I'm willing to do the following:

1. Since the very honorable Mike C won't be attending I'm happy to take on the responsibility of the kid's section. I'll also provide the budget for the kids giveaways in the event the break-even point doesn't happen. At some point I'll need an idea of how many kids will be attending along with age and boy/girl. IIRC, Mike C got this info via e-mail last year...as folks register can someone send me a list?

2. Within the next day or so I'll post a promotional flyer in the 'mud events section. I'll view it every few days and bump it accordingly so it stays on the first page. The posting will include lot's of great action pics from years past as well as clear info on how to register. Also needed will be your help to visit the posting and comment periodically to help it stay on the first page.

We really need to keep this event going. Maybe we should also advertise a gas card give away.

What else needs to be done and who is volunteering for it?

Are any efforts being made to create an online registration page? What's needed, just someone to host it?

Thad did call it out. I hadn't noticed it until he posted in the STL section.

Mike, I'm happy to do the kids stuff.

My little group from springfield had 4 trucks and 6 people the first year and 4 trucks and 8 people last year. I have my 4 truck core group and and a few passengers that will go and I will get them to sign up fast. Like all of you I have several more trucks I am working on but usually have trouble getting them over the hump. My biggest hurdle is to get some more of the Green Country Cruiser to participate. I am going to make that my "white whale" this year. Good luck and I hope to see more of you all there. I will be the marked man down at the end with all the white 60's.

Does someone have an image/file of the order form as it appeared in TT? I'd like to include it in the 'mud events posting. If you have it send me a PM and I'll get you my e-mail address.

I want to be there, but I am just not sure.

Sorry to hear about the news Craig. Plan to get back from your trade show early and I'll swing thru Lawrence and pick you and Will up. It will just be me this year, so there's plenty of room. You guys can even wear some purple :D

I'll help with inspections, registration, trails, etc.
