Those are some long ass hip rafters! Funny, they are just 1-3/4" LVL's. In CA those would be,with that span, probably 5-1/4" X 14" para-lams. Thats what we get for living in a sue happy state with earthquakes.

And of course the infamous LVertable with Tony's other son driving with my son (now almost 20) riding in the rear seat.

It's slowly getting there. I need some grading and road building advise! The gray area on the plan is going to be the new driveway up to the Drivethru Firehouse. Lol
The original blacktop driveway is 20 years old and the fully loaded OshKosh trucks showed us where the roadbed was a little weak. The freeze that cycles are brutal where ever there's a crack.

As far as the driveway, over-ex and put a nice thick layer of compacted base rock over a geotextile type of fabric. The thicker the section the better. Just wait though until all your heavy deliveries are done and you should be good.
