well if it makes anyone feel better...
Plastic cannister is good enough for Porsche.
EDIT: I will say, the key is to use the right tool to remove it and also not going gorilla mode when tightening. Oil the gasket. Use the right torque #.
And every X number of oil changes swap it out for a new one.
