I am ever so *slightly* rubbing on the 'floor' (i am probably calling it the wrong thing) of the truck where it meets the pinch weld. As I already flattened the pinch weld, it is not causing me issues.

I was curious if anyone has cut or pounded out that location as well. I did some searching but couldnt find any info. I was hoping to get a second opinion before I did anything drastic.

Please see the pic below.

Thanks dude, I have never seen that thread! @MTKID did a good job of showing what is going on behind the fender in there. @HortyNM did a very similar thing as well to fit his 35x12.5's. He texted me pics a couple months back but my phone broke and I never saved them :-/

The pinch weld is fine, its just that "floor" spot. I think I am going to try to cut it rather than hammer it out. Looks like it wont affect anything, which I assumed but was looking for some confirmation.

For sure. I'm always excited to see what @MTKID is up to. Post your results - I haven't had any rubbing yet with 34s but will have to get around to that too if I move up to 35s.

You should be safe with that spot you have circled. There may be a small drain tube behind there but it should still be easy to work around or push the drain tube back a little. And a peice of foam that is just sitting in there that can be removed.

Welding that spot should also be safe or even a small patch might do fine with 3M body panel sealer adhesive.

Just be careful of how much heat you are creating so the surrounding metal doesn’t get hot enough to melt anything (or worse) above there in the footwell area. Another pair of eyes doesn’t hurt just to be safe. And be discerning if you are using a grinder and cutoff wheel and have a fire extinguisher present. Better safe than sorry and I’d hate my thread to cause someone to do critical damage to their rig.

Edit: I think I’d call that area the rocker panel. Above that, the firewall.

Big $%^ing hammer worked on mine. It took 3-4 rounds to get it right(over the course of two years) and a little bit of trimming with the dremel. Then I trimmed back the fender liner to fit.

After looking at my own photos again, that looks like only the edge of the fender as it returns to the rocker panel, that you have circled. That would be super easy to cut, without extra precautions.

Just throw all precautions out the window and cut away!

Thanks man. I was planning on using a Sawzall rather than an angle grinder, but a dremel is good idea.

Haha yeah I guess thats next. Thanks for the feedback!

To update the thread for future reference. I cut the fender with the aforementioned dremel, which worked perfectly and I would recommend.

Here is the after pic. No more rubbing. Thanks for the help guys, I needed a little reassurance.
