Piece of crap OEM wiper blades

I know my dealership sells the cheap ones unless you ask for the good Toyota refills.

I think I am done with the freaking OEM inserts/blades, for the life of me....every insert I get is not right(too long, or mount different) for the NEW OEM arms/blades I got. And the rubber be it either Chinese, Japanese, USA......all suck, 5 years ago they were great.......now a huge suck. I went though 5 NEW OEM inserts before I got ONE that would clear the window. Not just the 60....100 series same crap.

this was going to be a call to my parts guy today

Welcome to Toyota, the new GM.

Blades are on par with the ones I get for my wife's Honda.

Perhaps designed obsolescence is the new quality management model.

As I tell everyone, Toyota for North America is more than just an "American" company.

They have positioned themselves and made themselves THE American company par excellence.

Toyota in the U.S. is run by a bunch of washed up ex-GM executives.

In fact, Toyota thought it a good idea to put an ex-GM executive on the Board of Directors in Japan (Mark Hogan-- one of the worst GM executives ever).

Awesome.

Buy more s***ty plastic cars. Don't worry. They will make more.

Wait till the new TOYOTA GLOBAL ARCHITECTURE comes into effect worldwide in a few years. Goodbye Land Cruiser parts-- at least for this market.

:meh: Get it while the getting is good is my new mantra.

OK so I'm in the same boat.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Very tangential to the specific addressed idea, but I bought the hype & got a pair of the PIAA silicone blades for mine - that was 3+ yrs ago, and the break-even is 4 yrs.

They slough off mud well, don't react weird to Rain-x, or anything odd. Steeply priced, but payout for mine is under 6 mo away & still work as new.

And it's awesome seeing a Junk thread bumped.

In Texas we have a bit of a weird climate. High HEAT in the summer & ICE in the winter. Between the 100* temps many days in summer & in the winter accidentally turning the wipers on w/ice on your windshield (it's like sandpaper & destroys them almost instantly), wipers don't last long. Honestly, I buy the Anco's that are about $5 each & replace them every ~6 months. If I spent $50 on each one I'd still have to replace them every 6 months.
