I'm trying to convince a friend this is the route to go for him...but I got to wondering it the 100 was too tall for a RTT and it might be top heavy? My RTT is on a trailer I tow behind the JK
Thanks for the pics

If he goes with a low profile tent like the Maggiolina line, he should be OK.
I hardly notice my tent on my FJ unless there is a strong opposing wind coming at me at highway speeds.

Nice setup you have.

Although I can feel the Columbus RTT atop my 100 and its effective contribution to its overall COG its completely manageable. I can't tell you the max angle I've had it but I can tell you I've been in some butt pinching off-camber situations. Matter of fact it was on the Utah trip last spring...when this pic was taken.

Given my old AT Horizon ended up on its side on two different occasions (high COG being a contributing factor IMO) with two different RTTs I'm far more comfortable with the RTT atop my 100 than the former trailer...

Nice...thanks,
I'm seriously thinking of ditching the JK/trailer and setting up my 100 with a rtt and all the goodies.
I'm telling my buddy that's what he needs, now I think that's really what I want as well !!

Borrowed CVT on my 03. My wife has already demanded that I buy one for the family before the kids get out of school.

I'm sure the gas mileage suffers, but even at 70+, I don't notice that it's up there.

I have both an ARB and a Columbus RTT. Prefer the Columbus if it's just me. The set up time can't be beat. The ARB is spacious and better in wet weather, but it's also much more cumbersome. Will probably end up atop an expo type trailer in the near future.

updated pics to put the height into perspective. Only issues I have are with low hanging branches

^^^^ I've had to turn around on more than one occasion due to low hanging trees that I couldn't clear with the RTT. A hard shell cover that just flips open by hinges would make it the perfect tent. Chainsaws can fix the low hanging trees.

James Baroud Evasion Evolution, 110 pounds, a comfortable hotel on wheels.

That is a nice set up. Ive heard that one of the challenges with the 100 is there are no roof rack tracks to easily mount some RTT's like a CampTeq

I'm not sure that's completely true. ENGINE er has a RTT mounted to his stock 100 series roof rack.
