Finally picked up my pig this weekend, Found a 69 blue/white in Lincoln NE. Pretty rust free-ish with just 3 spots where the rust monster has attacked. Both the front fenders and a small hole through the tail-gate. I had to trailer it home as the carb would runnith over through the accelerator pump. Disassembled it this afternoon and found that the float has some gas splashin' around inside it but I can't get it to leak back out to find the leak. It looks to have been soldered at one time at the top so who knows. If anyone can tell me where to get a float for a 2 barrel Aisen I'd appreciate any input. Took some pictures this afternoon but I'm too dumb to figure out how to post them here:confused: . I look forward to gettin' the old oinker up and roadworthy soon, and I'll throw up some pictures as soon as I can finger it out. Thanks. Oh, and since I'm now an owner:flipoff2: is in order!

Buy a star from Woody and you can post your pics otherwise (IIRC) you will be limited to the number you can post. Or if you want to email them to me, I'll do it for you - PM me and I'll get you my email address.

Here are 2 more and a note from Corey:

I'll try to get some better pictures as soon as I fix my carb overflow problem. Got a new float from Napa but it didn't fix my problem.

Those asin crabs are not real difficult to rebuild. The kits are available, so you might want to try rebuilding it. If you need any used parts, just ask here. Lots of pig parts 'floating' around here. We have to stick together, so we will be glad to help you out as much as possible.

More pics!!!

Thank you very much AZ for putting my pictures up, you da man.
I got a new float from Napa made out of Nitrile or something. It was way to long in comparison to the old brass float that is half full of gas. I was too anxious so I trimmed it down to the same length as the old float. However I'm still overflowing from the carb, tonight I'm going to try to adjust the whatchamadingus that contacts the needle against the actual float. I noticed on the Napa website that they do offer a brass float yet so I may need to try one of those to see if it matches the original float. I'm also considering drilling a small hole in the old float to drain the gas out of it as I can't determine where it's leaking from. Then soldering the hole shut, but this has already been done to the old float once before and it still is filling up with gas. Otherwise I may have to try a new needle and seat. Where would you "Knights of the Pig Trough" recommend getting a carb rebuild kit from. I noticed Cool Cruisers had one with instructions which would be helpfull. I think my carb # is 600191 for what it's worth. Thanks again AZkickn, and I'll try to get some better pics as soon as I can run her in and out of the barn.

My pleasure and welcome aboard!

Regarding carb rebuild - there is a lot of stuff in the 40&55 Series technical section about carb rebuilds. If you want to have it done for you, then most people recommend JimC (fj40jim) or Mark (65swb45) - I haven't used them but do a search over there for "carb rebuild" and you'll see both their names come up a ton.

Here is a couple:

Send some more pics when you can and I'll post um for you.

I gotta post up and tell you guys that I finally got to drive my 55 for the first time today. I adjusted the float up and it cured my overflow problem. I had to bleed my clutch to get any action out of it though so a rebuild may be in order soon. Also my brakes have a nasty pull to the right, disk brake conversion may be in the future. Lastly my 3 in the tree linkage has some issues as it was a beach to find 1st and Reverse back. Just kinda excited about the whole deal and will try to get some better pics up soon. Thanks.

Corey

Your pull to the right is probly a stuck wheel cylinder on the left front. there are two per wheel, and my 69 had one of them stick sometimes. I cleaned it up a bit and stomped hard on the pedal before heading off to work, and it was fine. Also check the status of your brake shoes. Might just need an adjustment.

SUUUUEEEEEE !. Nice piggy, welcome to Mud :flipoff2: (official welcome) Get that thang tuned up and meet us @ Swine-o-rama in August !
