Hi guys, need help  with a part number for a Pertronix Ignitor for my 2F.
Looking at buying one here in New Zealand but i am looking at $310 + shipping :crybaby: for the Ignitor and coil so was hoping to order one from Jegs or the like but dont want to order the wrong part as to far to return if i get it wrong

Dizzy has on it Nippondenso 029100-3181. 40 is a 1973 but has had fully recond 2F and 4 speed put in (dont know what year) instead of old F and 3 speed.

If anyone could help with part Nos for Ignitor and suggest what Coil also, it seems alot cheaper shipping it in from the States :D

Why not just get a later model Toyta electronic distributor and ignitor? Cheaper, better, more reliable = win, win, win.

Yes, the later Toyota distributors are a drop in swap. 78-79 "small cap" distributors drop right in. Later "large cap" distributors required denting in the lifter cover to make room for the distributor cap.

talk to the distributor themselves at :

I got mine from them I and I think I spent just a tad over 100(app.115) for both the coil and ignition. I got to admit it does help the fact that I didn't have to pay for S/H because I'm only a 15min drive from the company.

Hi

Im bit confused, which model of Pertronix is for small distributor cap????

Iv got FJ70 (FJ70LVKN)

I'm not a huge fan of Pertronix modules. Had two of them fail, one in a 1965 chevy and one in a 69 mopar with less than 6 months of use. No more Pertronix for me.

Hmmm...and I ran a Pertronix in a '69 & earlier dizzy for 20 years without a problem, before switching to a Toyota Big-Cap dizzy. Perhaps because I kept the old points in a bag in the glovebox all those years. If you carry the spare parts, it won't fail.

I would have thought all 70 series would have factory electronics. Post a pic of your dizzy and I can help you. I am a distributor ( no pun intended) for Pertronix.
