I'm running Smiley Rock this Saturday with another group, so Payette Draw is the selected trail for this run. See original post, edited with details. Saturday the 28th, 9 AM meet in Payson.

Weeeeeeeeeee

Fun trail - I was worried about not being able to flex like this, but it all seemed to work great for me...

I hope to see more pics!

Oh, and that little MV50 compressor from Costco worked great.

It seemed like it was only about 2 minutes per tire from 10psi back to 25psi even with my huge tires. I was quite impressed with it only costing under $50 at Costco.

Is Mike McDonald the gentleman who ran Pyeatt with us on your run John? He was a pleasure to run with.

www.azlro.org must not be their main communication forum, I see the run listed but no talk about it. I was trying to guage how many trucks they might put on the trail. Got any idea? I was thinking of moving our start time up or back to avoid a traffic jam, but we only have a few interested parties (and no commitments), if they will only field a few trucks I won't worry about it, maybe mix and mingle a bit.

Damn foreigners, never can understand 'em. Anyone translate this?

-Spike

the literal translation is:

"then want on................."

more in the spirit of "WANTING is all you got " which, of course, would only make me more mad  as a kid :flipoff2:

too bad, we will not be in town for this :frown:

but planning on the Trail Team event :D

have fun you guys

Yes, Mike is the man and he is as nice as folks get. I think the Rover list is light too. Maybe 3-4.

Who's going? Post up so you don't get left behind at the meeting place. If there are only a few trucks we'll depart as soon as we're all there.

-Spike

Yikes. We either need to hold back or get on the trail ahead of them. I only say that because if we have 2 or 3 trucks we'll be running a bit faster than ~9. If we get a mixed group of 15 trucks it will take all day to run it.

Again, those who are going, please post so we can possibly start a bit earlier. I suspect the LR group will head out of their meet (close to the trail head) around 9:30, so if we left Payson at 9 we could squeeze onto the trail ahead of them with a little room between groups.

Yes, and air down at the first obstacle. ;)

You could fake a delay! :D

Naw, we'll air down at the beginning of the dirt road. I'm not trying to cut them off, just trying to be somewhat courteous to both groups. If they make it on the trail first so be it.

-Spike

I know, I s#ck, I'm not sure I can make - I got a lot happening with work and home commitments right now...

Im heading down there Spike - I'll PM you my phone number

Ok, since it's just Cody and I, I'd like to meet a bit earlier to beat the crowd. We will PULL OUT of the Maverik before 9:00. If you're planning to attend but haven't posted up, be at the Maverik Gas station by 8:30, because when I and Cody hit that station I will fill up and we're out of there. It may be before 9, but certainly not before 8:30 so if you want to join us be there by 8:30 AM. Any questions you can call me at 602_6197177.

He had a pretty cool way of backing off a wood block balanced on a floor jack to get unstuck... Oh yeah - we were the only trucks that ventured that far down the trail..

The torrential downpour waited for us to get hung up and have to be outside of the trucks - Thanks Morther Nature! Haha - fun was had by all...

Except maybe the Land Rover guys who just parked and ate sandwiches the whole time....

Or maybe the ATV riders with no mufflers doing 70 on the trail who managed to lose one of their group off a cliff, requiring them to contact every EMS vehicle within the county to rush to the scene...
