The rear window keeps coming off the mechanism that guides it up and down. I pulled the door apart and found the little wheel that slides in the track likes to jump out now and then. It seems like the wheel shouldn't be this close to the end of the track. Is there something out of adjustment here or am I just destined to pull the door apart every couple of months? This shot is right where the wheel stops going to the right and then goes left to roll the window up. Thanks.

Yeah bud. Check out where it's welded to the piece that holds the glass. If you look at where it's sitting in relation to the edge of the glass you'll see it's shifted over probably a few inches too far.

You'll probably need to lower the window all the way to the bottom to see this. I used a large flat head screw driver and a hammer and tapped it over until it was flush with the glass. Viola, problem solved. YMMV. Be careful.

Mine did that & I just pinched the end of the track where it wouldn't come out again.

On mine I noticed The lower channel that the window sits in slide to one side over time (maybe an inch or so) which is enough to allow the wheel to slide out. You have to slide it back and then I crimped the end of the channel slightly and good to go

I just finished fixing mine. That channel needs to be in the correct spot all the way through the range of window travel. Also, if the glass is not properly secured in the channel it can move over time. Check at the top and bottom of travel to make sure the wheel doesnt come off. If you crimp the end, dont do too much!

I agree with not crimping the end too much. I did a slight crimp and have checked the channel for movement after wheeling a number of times with the vibration and seems to be ok- I have been dealing with this off an on for a year or so and seems to be OK now.

how does the bracket attach to the window? clamped or adhesive? The bracket keeps falling off the window on my rear drivers side. PO had shoved everything you can think of to keep glass up. I shook my head and took off panel in like 5 min and found the bracket laying on bottom of door. put it back on bottom of glass and got it in right spot and put up the window with the motor.. but if you go down, it will fall off after about 1/4 way down. I have not got too up close and personal as I have lots of other issues to worry about. She was in bad shape when I got her and getting it running right and removing non essential smogish items are all more important.

You don't have to crimp anything. The window has shifted in its seat. I had to take it out if the door and pull it back into the center of the track it's wedged into. It was visibly off by about 2". Easy fix, there's threads on here about it if I recall.

It's not free floating, it's wedged very tightly into the track with a rubber seal. Removing to add silicone adhesive would be a job. Mine just drifted over 18 years. I moved it back and it's been fine for 2+ years.

I took mine completely out when I was re-doing it and I agree, it is a pain to get the window back in the track with the rubber seal but it can be done. If you have the choice to just slide it back to the proper location I would do that, or at least attempt that, first.

On a 94 lc I had it was doing this to.I just pinched the track where it couldn't jump out again.I sold it a year later and it didn't do it after I modded the channel

I just reset my glass into the track on my rear passenger door. After fighting with the rubber seal and bracket for a while I figured out that you have to install the rubber seal on the window first and then slide the bracket on from the end like a sleeve.

You'll need to lube the outside of the seal and the inside of the bracket to get them to slide together. I used a spray dry lube but I think soapy water will work best (hindsight). Like others said, if you can just slide the window over while it's still in the track that would be the easiest. Mine had already fallen out. Good luck.

sprayed seal with wd-40 silicon spray installed rubber seal 1st aligned and put 1 end off metal track then window up all the way there is 2 holes up top u can use a screw driver to push up other side off metal track into seal wind up and down a few times 2 check it doesnt come off track.

I've fought my driver side so much I just put a new regulator and motor in, and it's beginning to get off-track again. Previous threads (use your search) pointed to a dirty glass channel. I'm going to try pulling it out and washing it to see if that is the problem, otherwise, I'll buy an OEM one. One opinion was that lubrication was a debris attractant and to just clean it every 15 years.
