Sorry to see it happened to you too but glad my thread was helpful. I got the replacement drum from Cruiserpart.net out of New Hampshire for a hundred bucks.
 
Adding my appreciation as well.
I was researching parking brake adjustment when this thread nudged me into disassembly mode. I might be the winner (looser?) for thinest hub.

Yes folks, that’s light coming through those fractures.
 
the red light on the dash was supposed to warn you when the parking brake is set - don't drive when it's on :doh: (although I have managed that a few times myself :o)
My light was always bright enough to see during the day, but didn't leave the brake set and drive because the end of the handle would make painful contact with my knee cap if I left it set and idling. But with moving the brake lever to the floor the possibility of leaving it set and driving off can happen anytime once I can drive it again.
