If ether drive shaft is removed or any gear, axle, birf, etc, is broken it will cause slippage and park will not hold.
To lock without the switch: With the key turned to run, shift low range to lock the center, remove the Diff fuse, shift high range and drive. When you want to unlock, simply replace the fuse.
Ok, drove it home. Felt really light in the front end. But, the good news is the noise is completely gone. so i def. need a front driveline. Anyone have a link to the tacoma driveline they use??
why would u "need" new front driveline becuz of vibration.

It might be because the noise that he mentioned, went away after removing the drive line.
dont you know how to use the park brake
Yes, this is a known bit. With any one wheel in the air, parking brake off, transmission in Park, these trucks can roll right off the jack stands.
...
I have never put any vehicle in Park without setting the Parking brake (first) ...

never lifted any part off the ground without chocks...

Another quick question. Why wouldnt my center diff. lock light come on? It used to work about 2 months ago. I did the 7 pin mod and added the hazard switch for the cdl but the light doesnt come on.
I pulled the dash and replaced the cdl bulb with a new bulb and the light still wont come on. anyone know what i should start with next???
reverse your pin 7 mod. You might have done that wrong and clipped the wrong wires.
True for any car or truck. A front wheel drive will roll if one front tire is lifted, a rear wheel drive if ether rear is lifted.
