I don't think that splice in your picture had anything to do with the sat install. That's a grey acc+12 wire from the r36 stereo plug.
What was connected to it before you re wired it back together?
The import center wouldn't have done that I don't believe. I think it was powering something else by the PO.
I don't think they would have tapped into the dome light for power like the stereo store down the street might have so that's probably not it either. (The body ecu would see the draw with another dvd player and might cause some of the issues people post about)
I would guess that your dvd light should go out with any time delay stuff in the system.

I'm sorry, I don't have a list of threads. The most informative is the one mentioned on the first page.

Show a pic of the back of the wiring of the rear dvd if you can.

I did not wire it back together. I was looking for signs of tampering, and just found that way. My reason for looking was to see if SAT Radio installer/uninstaller could have done something to effect DVD or parasitic draw.

I'll need to reconnect DVD and see if goes light out with time like other lights. Also measure for any draw at battery. PO report it took about 5 days before issue resolved. I'd think a weak battery with dirty dry post and headlight switch left in auto could do same. But this issue was resolved (reportedly) after Car Toy pulled Sat radio and unplugged DVD.

Keep in mind I do not have a parasitic draw at this time. PO took to SAT Radio shop (Car Toys) as he believed they caused the parasitic draw. I've records of a corner mechanic shop stating the parasitic draw was from Radio/Entertainment system and more testing would be needed. Apparently at that point he (PO) believed Sat Radio was the cause of issue. He took back to Car Toys and had them remove the SAT Radio. Car Toys disconnected the DVD at that time and "refused to hook back up". He did not want them touching the truck anymore so left the DVD unplugged. No more reports of parasitic draw after this time, and PO stated issue solved. So disconnecting the DVD seems to have fixed the issue. But even that is speculation as apparently it was SAT Radio uninstaller that disconnecting the DVD player at same time he removed the Sat Radio.

When I connected the DVD player I had trouble getting to play. Which may have been my movie disk, or DVD player sticking from lack of use or a defective DVD "IDK". But it does work (somewhat)!

I then (after connecting DVD plug) noticed power light of player remain on with key off. This didn't seem normal to me, but I could be wrong. I assumed (without testing) it was the parasitic draw and Car Toys found it so disconnected it again leaving as I found it.

So this is why I keep asking if others notice DVD power light on (last picture in post #11) to see if normal?

Post #4 has a picture with cable unplugged. Here is a one taken form opposite end with DVD plugged in.

Just checked mine, light goes off when acc is turned off and when the screen is closed with acc on.

All of that looks like a dealer install. Now that @Scoin has reported that the lights do not come on when the ignition is off you will have to determine if that DVD player is wired correctly from the dealer or if it is a bad unit. I am still of the thinking that it has 2 power wires. One with full time power and one with switched power. I could be way wrong though. Without a wiring diagram from a 2006 it will be hard to determine.

I'll give another look today if time permits, by pulling drop down to see how wires look in that area. Unfortunately I've not found anything in my 2007 manuals either. I'll keep hunting in my 2007 FSM and look in my 05 FSM as well.

I really suspect the DVD player is the issue, and was from the beginning with PO's issue of parasitic draw. With @Scoin reporting, it confirms my first impression that light should not stay on. I do suspect the DVD player itself, but could it be the LCD drop down is the controlling here, "IDK"

I need to fine a recycled DVD player???????????????????? Anyone!

Mine doesn't seem to get constant power since the DVD will restart when ignition is turned off. It does have 2 fuses just under the glove box pass side. I haven't had time to trouble shoot it and it works just a bit annoying. I'd like to rip it all out and put in a newer hd screen and a pi3 so I could stream from my phone. Since kid #2 just arrived time is probably not gonna warrant this so a tablet on a mount will likely be the fix.

@2001LC did you look at the fuse box and make sure there are no wires jumped or tampered with there? I didn't know our vehicles had a fuse box under the glove compartment.

I had a hard time finding it when I read about it in a another thread.

Thanks it's a lot cheaper than Dealer quoted me ~$2K (must buy complete system).

No I didn't I'II do that for sure today. I did find two fuse lying in glove box, I assume had something to do with the old parasitic draw issue.

If those wires were crossed or bypassed I think that would wire a constant 12V to the ACC terminal on the DVD player. Im hoping you can make some headway on this project. I know there are rabbit holes that must constantly pop up doing these kinds of projects.

I'm re-posting this PS kick panel area, I did notice the white ties holding some wires:

Yeah, I do have to watch not to chase some of these that in my opinion are not of value. If it not in the FSM it's not high on my list, and I'll often rip-out after market stuff like this.

Sorry not in the kick panel just under the glove box behind the hinge.

@2001LC my LC is a 2005 so I'm not sure if there's a difference in the systems. I'm following your thread and getting a ton of info so I hope I'm helping a little.

You are, thank you.

I just found a picture from working on blower fan. Looks like this one cable with white tie is where you found fuse:

Darn it looks like this may be going to back of head unit. It may well be where the wire was spliced (I'll need to look closer). But appears as though wire spliced into factory block that DVD cable jumper is plugged into. So one issue may have had something to do with other. They may have shorted DVD (battery connected) at time of install, which condition may/should not be present any longer. ...I hope!
