I'm cleaning my frame and rear diff./axle and have taken the time to remove the original paint so I'm down to bare metal. I have heard of POR15 paint and it sounds like a good product. As another option, anyone familiar with Bar-Rust 167 & Bar-Rust 236? I have heard this may provide better long-term rust protection. :hhmm:

We used POR15 on my moms jeep. It is actually very robust. Im going to do it on my sliders, axles, bumpers, etc. when the time comes. Last week we drug the bumper of the jeep across some rock for a good 7ft, along with the front diff and her driveshaft> The bumper came out unscathed, and the driveshaft held. The diff was unfortunate... Maybe it is time for Hydro Assist

por 15 is good stuff.
for added insurance it is best to use a rust killer. somthing with phosphoric acid like navel jelly. or use hydrochloric acid, which is also called muratic acid.

with the navel jelly, it leaves a black coating that is only good for preventing rust for a year. once you slap the por 15 on there, it will never rust again.

just plan ahead if you have to weld around it ;)
