It may be 1/8".....but the jacks on my CB (Uniden) are 3.5 mm (minijack) which is just a hair over 1/8". Ratshack has them even if the pimpled faced kid waiting on you doesn't know.

Get your PA speaker if you want one. No one here is going to care, or give you a hard time. I have one on each of two vehicles, I call horses and cows with them.

We give Sparky a hard time for very different reasons. Most of it is good natured even it doesn't look like it sometimes.

Possibly, you're not familar with the whole "sparky" episode. We are not haters.

We just "rag" on him a little. If you're not accepted around here you'll now it...you'll simply be ignored.

i know the whole episode, i've been here reading it and chuckling... but this thread is a little much. he came in asking a question and got 25+ posts of people cutting him down. it just seems a little much.

i'm glad the cruiser community doesn't do this type of thing often. :beer:
 
Honestly, there have not been 25+ posts of cutting him down. There have been a large amount of posts telling him exactly what he asked for. and a few pointing out the whole endeavor was a dumb posur idea.

Putting a PA system on your car to yell at people is STUPID and immature. (I can't speak to calling cows. ;)) My students are constantly complaining about why cops target them. Maybe because you do stupid s*** to call attention to yourselves like loud exhaust, illegal neon lights, and PA systems. Does it make the car perform better on or off the road? No? then take it off.

I think just about anyone would have gotten just about the same response. Sparky has a history, so he got it a little worse.

I think a megaphone would be a better option. That way he is not tied to the truck. He can walk around with it all the time; always ready to "shout out".

Yall are pretty funny. No it is cool. I got the answer I wanted really which was "what the hell do you call the damn PA jack deal" and I got the answer. Thanks yall. It is just a fun thing to have so if yall want to diss it, it is cool. But I like it. Thanks again.
 
There are legit reasons to use one though

I already purchased my CB that has an option for a PA speaker which i will be taking advantage of, my question is where did you get one thats loud enough to be heard, im really looking hard for one thats louder than 8ohm which is what its measured in right?? Anyone have suggestions on speakers they know are loud?


Please correct me if im wrong but yeah i plan on using mine for more than just yelling at people on the streets.
