Let me preface this by saying that I recognize that it is a relatively insignificant matter.

I picked up my 2018 LC last week and was a little surprised that there was no case for the owner's manuals and other documents. The dealer is supposed to get one for me within ten (10) days. The salesman has e-mailed me twice to say that they can't find a part number for it and haven't found a missing case at the dealership.

I'm dubious that a car with this price tag doesn't come with an owner's manual case. It would be nice if there were a leather one embossed with the words "Land Cruiser" that fit the whole stack of booklets you get, but I'd settle for Cordura with the Toyota emblem.

Does a new LC come without an owner's manual case and does anyone know the part number or where I could find it?

Every Lexus car I've owned (4) has had a nice leather (or good fake leather) slip cover for all the glove box manuals. But my '11 LC does not have any cover for the owner's manuals, they just sit in a stack in the glove box. NBD.

Like everyone, I've gotten manual cases from every other car manufacturer when buying a new car, which is why I was surprised the $85,000 LC not only didn't have a fancy leather/pleather one, it didn't have one at all.

I called Toyota Customer Care after my initial post and was told that some Toyota models come with an owner's manual case and others don't. The woman I spoke with said that she couldn't tell from the information available to her if the LC got one so she asked her co-workers who also didn't know for sure. I might be outraged or offended if a Camry buyer gets an owners manual case and an LC buyer doesn't.

The dealer was kind enough to give me a Toyota manual case they had lying around, but it is not thick enough to hold all the documents and close with the magnetic clasp. So, I'd like them to find me one that at least fits all the documents. Maybe the one the Tundra, Highlander, Sienna or Sequoia buyer gets would work...

Anyhow, like I said, this is pretty insignificant compared to how great the LC is. Its just the attention to detail in the customer relations aspect of the purchase that leaves something to be desired.

My 2013 LC, which I bought new, came with a nice Toyota branded leather/pleather case that holds all the books.

Just lucky, I guess.

My 2015 also came with the plastic/pleather case. Wonder if it was provided by the dealer or discontinued with the update in 2016.

In the past I’ve found Eagle Creek brand packing organizers at places like REI that fit some of the door pockets and random cubbies in my 4R and LC. They probably have something that will accommodate the owners manual, though I’m partial to the OEM pleather case that mine came in...

I too was a little bummed that there wasn’t a case for the owner’s manuals. I found a quick cheap fix that turned out perfect!
