Hey Guy, here's something I didn't take into consideration while trying to figure out how I'm goint to go about mounting my crossmember mounts for the conversion; were you able to use your existing crossmember and just change the transmission mount, or did you have to source a 60 series crossmember?
Also, since the cross member mounts slid forward approximately 5", how did you deal with the brake/gas hard lines that run along the inside of the frame rails?

It's interesting, but on my FJ62, the hard lines are already shaped and bent properly to fit a manual transmission crossmember. They are probably all built like that to simplify manufacturing.
It is, but there are 2 different crossmembers. Both work. Use the one that matches the years of your bellhousing. 84 and down use 1 style, 85 up use the "3F" bellhousing. The crossmembers are completely different between the two, and the later ones are rotated slightly.
Just me personally, but I think the earlier bellhousing is preferable since it doesn't rotate the transmission, and uses a slave cylinder with an adjustable linkage.

I think the bell that's being sent up with my tranny setup is a 3F bell, which works out for me because all but one of the junkyard 60's near me are '85-up. I wonder why the earlier slave would be adjustable and the later wouldn't be, unless the engineers figured the adjustment at the pedal is sufficient to handle any adjustment in the system.
