If I ever get permission to acquire again, this would be my next rig.

70 series, coils, 4 doors
What series? 79?

Got a hidden winch mount for my 4Runner from Pelfrey.

@beno had an M8000 that needed a home so I jumped on it.

It came unpainted so step 1 is to lay a coat of black on it.

Very nice piece. Superb welds.

Is this where I'm supposed to post the s*** I do to my balled up hunk of metal? I guess I won't dirty up DNP's thread anymore.

But your balled up hunk of metal is a 120, if you post it here then I will be confused. You have a 4.0 powered Prado with a fancy wrinkled wrapper ;)

Looked up a YouTube video on how to pull bumper. Glad I did. Took about 15 minutes.

Base plate replaces the OEM aluminum crush bar.

IMG_9595.JPG

The top plate is adjustable where you can push it flush with the bumper to sammich the fairlead

Mock up bumper. Draw fairlead holes. Trace hole. Jigsaw out.

Winch $500 great price....

Mount $400

Rope $100

Hope I never have to use it

Looks great! I still haven't seen a bumper for 5th gen that I like. This seems like the best way to mount a winch to a newer 4Runner. Hopefully you will never use it, but it will be nice to have on your dirt adventures.

I'm starting to think your daughter may need a more stock lower mileage 4Runner when she is ready to drive and I might know somebody that would be willing to do a trade......
