Found a guy selling these speakers for very cheap on ebay (referenced from the 80's tech forum) and thought I'd pass along to any of you guys who were on the fence. They're not going to get any cheaper than this, $61 out the door delivered to my office. Just ask ahead of ordering that both sets be shipped together.

Again, not too savvy with the electronics, so hopefully the upgrade will go smooth next weekend! Barry White accidentally blew out both my front speakers earlier this week, they just couldnt get enough of his love

I make joke :meh:

B, you're on a roll with the upgrades. You've officially been infected with the "bug" and have given into it's demands. Congrats.

I have to content myself with these small things until I can throw down on the bigger ticket items! I'm still having trouble unloading that stupid Jeep....$13,000 to a good (or bad) family

I couldn't tell from the ad, but what model did you end up getting? The 1641Rs? I bought some of these awhile back, but haven't installed them yet. Got those and a pair of 1041Rs off amazon.com for about $100 shipped (although the 1041Rs were backordered and never did come in). Still waiting to find some time to get them installed.

Let us know how it goes for you. I'm very interested since I also have a 94.

Yes, one set of the 1641r's and one set of 1041r's ($61 shipped). Hopefully I'll get em next week and I'll try and install shortly after. My stock speakers are cooked.

You are on a roll. Nice. :grinpimp:

I still have the stockers. They sound okay, but I've heard BT's (Mark's) upgraded speakers, and they sound WAY better than mine.

Yeah, I went with some 2-way Eclipse speakers in all 4 doors and only run those. I disconnected the tweeters in the dash, rear cargo area & the sub. I didn't disconnect the rear tweeters till' I did the rear cargo light and had the head liner down. Also now the DS tweeter is connected to my CB. Very happy with all of it with the exception of still needing to wire the CB directly to the battery to eliminate some feed back on the radio that comes and goes.

I installed Alpines in all 4 doors and was quite pleased with the improvement. That was an easy mod, but getting the Scion H/U in , now that was a pain in the arse:deadhorse:

Ok I am going to be a little lazy since I have zero time to feed my Cruiser addiction lately. I upgraded my front door speakers with a set of Pioneers but the rear door speakers look very different. I have heard that they can be replaced with the same and that they cannot. I know, I just don't want to search. Mark or bpenn are they the same or not and can they be run off of an aftermarket head unit?

I must be getting pretty darn confident off my little successful mods, cause I just jumped right in on this tonight....yeah, without reading too far into the install

Yep, speakers are too deep. Guess I should've read about those washers I need! haha

oh well, wouldnt be the first time a simple project remained 1/2 done overnight
