I have a 1983 HJ60. I'm looking for the paint color code of the paint currently on it. It's no longer original. It looks like 653 Olive Green but a shade greener. Are there original Toyota colors close to 653? Thanks!

Certainly peaks my interest and surprise, but not to lesson the technical fascination of the artist’s palette code….show us a few more glamour shots at various profiles. My first thoughts, however, are a brand-new FORD BRONCO in disguise. It’s very difficult, if almost impossible for myself, to entirely cast aside the time worn and true RED -WHITE - BLUE & DESERT SAND (my nomenclature…not Toyota’s) of our ancestors!

I don't believe 653 was ever offered on a 60 series, just the 40's. Also agree there is a little too much yellow in yours compared to the og 653, and it's possible that is due to that particular bright yellow pigment being NLA and the substitute not matching exactly. At least that is what I learned when I struggled to match this color 10 years ago.. it wasn't easy to do.

Somewhere I once found original Toyota literature saying 653 Olive was a color option for the 60 Series at the very beginning, on late 1980 or early 1981 production vehicles, but I have never seen nor heard of one originally painted that color. And of course I forget where I saw that literature.
