Still moving along slowly but I got the head put back on today.

In all likelihood your wife has better balance than your engine!😛

I got the timing set today and put in some fresh gas. the old 40 fired right up, I was kind of surprised after sitting for awhile. I let it idle for a couple minutes and noticed my plastic fan is too close to the shroud and one of my oil lines from the oil filter is leaking.

What is the correct orientation for the filter? I believe mine was never correct and the shifting linkage rubbed a hole through the line. The picture is just how I have it now to get the lines off the linkage and confirm the cause of the oil leak.

Got the new oil lines on. Let her idle for 15 minutes then adjusted the valves once it warmed up. No leaks and fires right up. I still need to replace the leaking wheel cylindar and adjust the carb.

My son was so excited to hear the 40 run it got him into the camping spirit. We cooked dinner over the fire and enjoyed smores out of the back.
