I have an older Norcold fridge. It runs on AC or DC power. I have an AC cord for it but I would like to find a DC cord for it. Can anyone tell me where to look/find a DC cord for this old fridge?

Carlos , take a picture (better one than you have posted of the plug hole ) with the slide in the 12 v dc hole open , so we could see the area of the 12 v plug.

Thank you all for your help, I really appreciate it. I called up Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters but he's out of the shop for a few more days and I am of course trying to figure this out at the last minute. So, I checked online and called a few RV shops. Found an RV place in Texas that was able to confirm that the DC cord exists and is available. We have a shop locally that is checking into the DC cord from Norcold directly. Sounds like it will cost a bit, but I scored on the cost of the fridge when I purchased it through Craigslist a couple years ago. Looks like I may have it shipped here in a few days so it should all work!

Expedition XJ- I do have an old computer cord for AC power, and that's what I have been using. Thanks for the tip :)

Ahh , I was guessing that the white plastic thing was in the AC side , and it needed to slip over to see the 12DC plug.\

Opps.

Oh, you're basically right. That white plastic tab slides back and forth exposing either the AC plug-in or the DC plug-in, but I knew that. This model can run on either, but requires a separate cord for either AC or DC. I have the AC cord and am hoping I have just found the DC cord... :)

I'll post up with details when I get the cord.

That fridge looks familiar ;) Hope you've found a source for the cord. Too bad Kurt is not around, I thought he would know about or have it, from what I remember back when I was looking for a cord before I sold it to you.

I had a feeling you might post up. :)

Yep, this is the fridge that you sold to me years ago! I have only used it a couple times with the AC cord. I did just receive a DC cord that I found through a huge RV store down in Texas while searching online. It shipped to me next day from a source here in OR, oddly enough. I'm gonna go try it out right now...

Found/bought the DC cord I was searching for! Found it searching online at some HUGE RV place down in Texas. It actually shipped from a place here in Oregon and arrived the next day. It fits and apparently works! More testing to follow...

Where and how much?

It looks like a heavier duty version of this.

You may be right. The cord I purchased looks more heavy duty and was $55! The cord is probably 8' long and I have been plugging it directly into the cigarette lighter on the dash for now. DC outlets will soon be installed in the rear of my pig for a cleaner install. It works great and I have no complaints.

I purchased it through PPL Motorhomes, down in Houston, Texas. You should be able to call any decent RV place and they should be able to source it and order it for you. This particular RV place said they had it in stock, which is why I purchased it through them. I needed/wanted the cord before the McGrew Trail Ride and was running out of time. Some RV places were unable to help while other RV places said it could take up to 4 weeks to ship. Kurt, form Cruiser Outfitters was out of town at the time. I would also suggest checking with him if you're looking for one.
