These springs seem to be great.... He built them to be a little stronger in the frunt end to allow for the engine and the driver as this is where most of the weight is most of the time. The rear springs are still srong for a full load.

I like working with small companys who have been around for while and give good service rather than brand names.

The full military wrap seems to be a good idear

Can I get the whole kit here in the States? I won't ever be able to come to the GWN for an install. I'm putting factory Toyota electric winch on the front of my BJ-73 and I would love to lift it some too.

dd, if I have read this thread correctly, then this is not a kit. Rather, this spring shop took the existing springs off GB's BJ74, re-arced them and added a leaf. I am assuming that since all Toyota Landcruiser leaf packs have one military wrapped end that these springs on GB's BJ74 are not factory steel, and in fact are aftermarket, put on in Japan. That said, the quality of the steel may well be very good...hence the good results from re-arc and add-a-leaf. Typically, the experience for using sacked out high mileage stock packs, re-arcing them and adding a leaf means the new lift only lasts a short while and the ride is harsh.

EDIT...I was just thinking that the spring shop may have made the dual military wrap leaf...That would be impressive. GB, which is the new leaf on the packs?

Yes...

I have just got off the telephone with Attila at OSS.. And he says he added the "dual military wrap" at the shop. The spring he added was #2 spring. He also said that if you send him a plan he will build any kind of spring you want.

Give him a call (250) 768-4545

Thats great!

So you have used Okanagan Spring Suspension Limited for your springs to compare?

GB

No.

I figure leaf srping is a leaf spring. Don't you ?

I get my springs re-arched + 1 leaf on the rear spring of my ex-BJ60 and I was very happy with it.

More firm... but not to much... very confortabe.

So are those the original bj74 leafs then just to be clear

OSS re manufactured the original springs and added the military wrap and extra leaf to each set.... As far as we can remember.

GB

What everway you look at it the springs have dual militay wrap which did not have before and the have an extra leaf which I think is great deal...

That still does not make sense to me:

#1...Are most of the leaves the same that were on the packs when you bought it, they re-arced the used steel and made a new #2 leaf for each pack...

#2...Or, did the use the old springs as a template to build new ones?

Thanks

Good to hear another good review on this shop. I ran into some Toyota pickup guys from Penticton last summer who raved about this place. I will be taking my front springs into them to have re-arched..

Just been out to check..... and they look from what I can see, exactly the same both ends.

GB

Both ends look like they are military wrapped...... according to this link https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=77921&highlight=military+wrap

Much the same as the leaf srings in picture below. Do they call this style of sring full military wrapped?

drop pitman .. disconect sway bars and steel braided lines it means a premium lift kit .. !

actually many are steering away from the braided steel lines since they seem to have a habit of ripping loose if snagged where as the rubber seems to resist this more...
cheers

GB,

Did you have the rear springs arched to different (camber) specs?
According to the only specs I have for a BJ74 (Ironman TOY007AN/S & D?S (also spec'd for 60 series rear springs)), the drivers side springs have 15mm more camber (height) than the passenger side. Is this the case with the OE springs?

My 74 is 30mm lower on the drivers side and the local re-archers tell me they cant promise a 15mm difference. I found 2 Ironman TOY008's for the front and am considering my options for the rear springs

Etsha6, I do not have stock springs as they have a military wrap both ends. So its hards to give you any specs. Having said this there is the slightest drop in arch hight on the drivers side, this is due to my weight being on that side and the springs settling down to there correct arch.

Give "Attila" a call (250) 768-4545

I do not have any concerns with his work, and personally I am not bothered about any camber issues; probably because I have not noticed any.....

I have had two kits made up using other manufacturers measurements, only problem is each kit they build is never the same. Seems one side always is lower than the other.

Plus the cost of a custom one off set was around 800.00 Canuck.

Quality of the steel was good.
