Hi all,

I'm finishing up rebuilding one engine and going to be doing 2 more. The first is my 1950 Dodge B2 pick up, next is my 1973 FJ40 and then a my 1969 FJ40.

So here is my deal, after rebuild, that FIRST turn over is a big wear down on everything, there is no oil in lot's of the engine. I am looking for a 110v pump that I can pressure pump the engine with oil. I'm thinking 40 psi is good. It does not need to move a lot of oil per minute cause it's just a few quarts, it's more the pressure I want. I found this
Self Priming Electric Oil Pump Transfer Fuel Diesel 110V AC 16GPM | eBay

I also use ZDDP (zinc/phosphorus) additive in the oil after rebuilds. This is critical to start up wear reduction.

Don't know about the dodge, but on your F-engine 40's you can take the distributor out, chuck a big flat screwdriver blade in your drill, and use that to spin the oil pump for as long as you want.

It's not really a problem if you used proper assembly lube on everything
The dodge is a flat head six right I'm pretty sure you can prime it like these guys said with a drill and a flat blade bit
if you where to build a pre primer pump
Think it was car craft made one with a Chevy small block oil pump and a plastic paint bucket for priming gm ls motors
Was cheap and worked slick
Guys have also been using a cheap harbour fright pump up garden sprayer to prime engines with
