I am replacing my rear main seal in a few weeks on my 1994 80 series. I am going to replace the lower oil pan gasket and front crank seal as well at the same time. Is the upper oil pan gasket known for leaking? If so I will reseal that as well.

It's just a silicone gasket right?The most common leak is from the rear arch on the upper oil pan. The rear main could possibly be OK. I resealed my pans ~13 years ago and my 24-year-old rear main is still holding.

Thank You man.Yup, seems to usually be the case that it is the pan arch seal and not the rear main. Resealed mine a couple years ago. It's a pain in the ass, but not very difficult to perform.
