depnds on the year, the older 2LT used a different filter than the newer 1990+

up to 87/08 it is the same as the 3B after that it is the 30002...
cheers

that would be the 41010 filter.
fits 2F's, 3B's etc.

the 30002 has a bigger spud, fits HZ's and later engines

Rick please clarify...
are you saying the 30002 does not fit the 2LT after 87/08 and all the 2LTE engines?

Oil filters 2L-TE vs. 3B

The 1989 / 1990 / 1991 Prado with 2L-TE filters definitely are not interchangeable with the 3B oil filters.
The 3B takes the Fram PH8A oil filter or any cross reference. This is a cheap filter also used on gas engines. I hope it's a good filter.
The Prado 2L-TE oil filter is a different beast altogether.
It is a rather large oil filter with a 24mm dia. thread x 1.5mm pitch.
I have used a Toyo brand oil filter part # T0-1216M
As well the smaller Toyo brand part # TO-1214M also fits which is what my Townace had and has a WIX cross reference available at local Napa auto parts. I believe that was WIX $52368 and was about $24. This was the Camry diesel oil filter that was available here in Canada for a short time in the mid 80s.
The terrain tamer jobber brand available at 4WheelAuto in Edmonton seems OK too.

I don't know if this helps or not.
Cheers,
Roman
