Well, not quite yet anyway.. but soon. My wife's parents are moving to Oregon at the end of this year, or start of next year, and decided not to take the cruiser with them. So.. we're getting it. It's mostly stock. It does have a 2F engine, with an aftermarket carb, headers, and distributor. Which I will switch back to Toyota stuff. I pretty much just want to desmog it, fix the rear rust, and get it running reliably, and drive it around and have fun with it.

Nice one! Nice to drive a rig that has personal history. And a mirror arm that doubles as a step up to the roof

Love the patina! Hopefully with your rear sill repair you can create the same look!

The mirror comments crack me up! Would be nice to get those OEM but that will require some welding and painting... Again if you can match the patina would be great.

Congrats!

I'm digging the turn signal switch arm. Don't get too attached, your parents are going to discover how much Oregon terrain wants people to own a Landcruiser, they are going to seriously want it back (and especially after you trick it out for them, I believe the term is Indian Giver).

didn't say what model year but guessing 69? do you have a build date? Looks a lot like my 68 when I bought it except for bumpers on the hood for the windshield.,

Yeah, the mirrors are goofy. They will be replaced and the doors repaired. Hopefully I can do so with minimal damage to the paint. I really do love the overall look. I think a good bath and wax and it would look great.

Early 69. Mine is a late 69, his is an early 69. There are some small differences in ours made just a few months apart. The turn signals, and a few other things I can't remember right now.

Nice 40! Great history. What year is the GM product in the back ground? It appears to be a 60'-62'?

I think it's a 63. I can never remember. It's sweet. 400+ 283, Th350. He just blew up the rear end, so that's actually why I was over there last night. I was measuring the axles and spring perches to build new brackets for the new axle he got. Everything is different on the new one, so I am going to make some new perches and panhard mount for it. He's been pretty bummed his truck is down for the last few weeks. The pinion was trashed! 400hp to a 10bolt didn't work out so well. lol. I don't think I have any pictures of the truck, but it's cool.

I like the color of your late '69 FJ40. Maybe someday my '71 FJ40 will enjoy the same color.
