It is going in the 58 Apache. My mother and her man-friend are buying the truck as a weekend driver. Look for a nice chevy auto-trans to go in as well. Sweet. Best part is I'll get to fix it all the time and never get to drive it....can't wait. Also, I get to store it as well. Win-win I say

I did hear of your project...I'm waiting for a build thread!
The skirt is off of Lexi...I have no pics but I was spotted https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/525067-spotted-forum-member-question-about-lift.html.
I do want to send it up to kina to deal with some rot in the rear 1/4 and patch up a few of the holes and deal with a few small rust issues. That takes priority at this point.

I have a 40 lined up already and will dig in after the holidays. This seems to be a good time to build one with the abundance of 40 parts revolving around the club.
That, for $500 is a complete rig that would make an excellent parts rig or start to a resto.
It runs and rolls and that's amazing compared to some of the prices I have seen on mud/craigs.
Plus here in the New England driving an 80 limits you to the amount of trails you can do.
I don't want a full blown resto though, I'm shooting for what your aiming for.

The eventual sale of my jeep will fuel a 40 build.

72 fj40. needs a tub and has a lower end knock in the 2f.
Frame very solid, interior is all complete and ok.
Comes with a lot of extra parts as well. May just yank the motor, throw another one in.
been sitting in a garage for almost ten years.
Should be an interesting project.

Bob, it should be an F motor, not a 2F. Is the valve cover tin or cast aluminum?

I think we have just found a new customer for our unneeded parts. :grinpimp:

When are you going to send me those Jeep pix?
