Yup, it's a real mess. It's back at my friend's place now and I think a local mechanic is going to buy it for parts.

I rather enjoyed it. Had lunch on the deck at Brown's Taproom by the Hudson in Troy. Glad to put away the flannel.

I think the truck is worth no more $7K. It will take $50K+to restore it and 5K in labor to part it out, package it and sell parts for maybe $7k.

The sticker is cool and probably will help him with the sale. I had those wheels on my tinted Jeep Cherokee when I was Sixteen. When I bought my FJ40 for $1800 I sold the Jeep for $6k. Maybe the wheels will add value . Lol

Long shot: anyone have a charcoal canister to part out? The one on my '97 FZJ80 has seen better days and thought to check in before going with the usual AC Delco aftermarket unit.

I've got a pair of Warn fine spline hubs that are takeoffs from my 1980 FJ40 with 93k on it. Make me an offer.

Unfortunately my rig has short locking hubs vs. the Warn 28771 30 spline hubs on your 40. They will not fit.
