I closed my business in 2015 after a very successful 10 1/2 year run. When I started The BoardSMITH I had a choice, either I could sit around on my butt and complain or I could get out and do something. So i created The BoardSMITH making high end cutting boards. I actually sold them all over the world, from Volgograd, Russia to Australia. In fact, the Russian market was my third largest ship to destination.

When everything was packed up when I closed, the few remaining boards I had were put into a container and forgotten. Recently as I was looking for something else, I found them again and have decided to offer them here at a 50% discount.

Due to the agreement I have with the new business owner, I am not allowed to advertise them on eBay or other sites on the internet but I have permission to offer them here.

All the boards are 2" thick, except for the lazy susan, are end grain boards, fully oiled and waxed, ready for use. If you want to compare prices, the web site is www.TheBoardSMITH.com

2 x 12 x 18 hard maple boards. These are seconds, a small flaw had to be repaired. $55 ea.

16" diameter Lazy Susan. Made a bunch over the years and this is the only one left. Low profile bearing so it sits close to the counter top and turns easily. $40

2" x 16" diameter hard maple cutting board. Didn't make many round boards but there was always a small demand. $85

Hipsters buy Land Cruisers?

I really have no idea what being a Hipster means, so I looked it up.

How to Be a Hipster

I have reviewed the Hipster info presented and I think that many of us have many characteristics of hipsters that I have noted to include:

  • We like good coffee
  • We like wearing older t-shirts that some may find ironic
  • Facial hair and messy hair (during camp-outs)
  • Borderline foodies (note that the love of beer is not mentioned and I would guess be a negative)
  • Reject blind consumerism
  • Dress vintage - you know who you are, but its not on purpose

Key ways that I believe few of us are hipsters:

  • Skinny jeans (I could stop right here, right?)
  • Age - usually <30 - if you are, you better keep reading to make sure you are not one
  • Wear glasses to look cool (most of us wear glasses because we need them or for safety)
  • Heavy Social Media use - think Snapchat and Twitter
  • Embrace technology and early on (does HAM count?)
If you are worried now . . . remember that if you are a hipster, you truly have to embrace the hipster lifestyle and yet, not allow yourself to be fit into a mold - - as soon as you are identified as a hipster, you probably need to do alter something soon or risk being labeled, not that you care.

Wanted Early 100 Series wife wants to add a 100 to the fleet so I am on the search high miles ok based on what I have found on craigslist and elsewhere looks like we can get one for around 5k so trying to stay in that area.

You probably saw this if your looking on craigslist but this seems like a good deal. I was thinking about going down to check it out.

Yup going to call the Lexus a little worried based on pics on the one in RDU and thinking about the other there is one out this way in Greeneville, SC that looks pretty good but throwing a code for TPS and O2 and the seller is kind of a douche when I asked his willingness to negotiate on price immediately said he has already talked to 5 people before me but its still on Craigslist we will see.

Yup I contacted him didn't seem to willing to work with on price and to be cautious a denso TPS is 300 from autozone then add on 1-4 O2 sensors depending he didn't want to negotiate on Saturday when I emailed him but we will see.
