Anyone have any used climbing rope?
I'm ok if it's past its useful life.

Im sorry but people are getting crazy I paid 5k for my 40 and it had hardly any rust you can see the rust clearly in these pics which is just going to lead to alot more and it doesn't run.

I had someone at Cars and Coffee told me my 40 was worth $40k. I told him, I'll give you a 20% commission if you can sell it for $40k. :)

And trust me, I know it's getting crazy. I just paid too much for a 60.... But the key is it has ZERO rust or bondo... Thanks Arizona...

Yes, just had a lady say the 40 I am attempting to sell was worth 60. I told her it was 20k and she could have. She said why so cheap? Unbelievable.

Well, if a new one is $80k....

Seriously though, I think people are willing to pay more because they recognize it's one of the few vehicles that you can buy, drive every day, and have fun with, and sell at a later date for potentially more than you paid for it.

How many vehicles can you say that about?

Big difference between telling you that you can get $40K and someone handing it to you. There are a lot of 40s and 60s sitting for sale that have been for quite a while with healthy price tags. We generally only see the for sale prices, not the sold prices unless it is an auction. On line auctions are tough as well as the winner does not always take the vehicle.

Yours is a nice 40 James, I would not guess at a value. You are well on your way to a collection :)

It's literally impossible to put a price on classic cars because its just determined by what someone will pay for them.

40's can fetch a huge amount for some nutter willing to pay a large amount for a vehicle that drives terrible on the road (all things equal) and will never see what it was made for (dirt and trails). They will keep it in a garage and drive it to the bar once in a while. They are as bad as oil speculators..... they make money but ruin it for the rest of us.

Thanks. Yeah I don't really think about the value because I have no intention of selling it. And yeah, the wife is coming to grips with the fact that I'm collecting not hoarding. One of these days I'll have to sell one for a profit to keep the 'it's not costing me anything' charade going. ;)

Someone should jump on this...
