looking for any aftermarket used front bumper that can hold a winch for an fj80. Im located in Charlotte Nc. Pm me with anything that would work. Thanks
There are people who have mounted winches in the factory front bumper. @SeanLX???

Will, did you and I meet at Exxon last month when I had my hood up on my green 80?

We did meet at the Exxon. Good to hear from you again. I actually have a winch behind my factory bumper. Just looking for something beefier. This is my bumper currently

Ahhhhh, stealthy! You might wanna post in the classifieds in the Upstate Cruisers and Low Country Land Cruisers clubhouses. Maybe expand to STLCA in TN and Capital Land Cruiser Club in VA/DC/MD. Front bumpers do turn up sometimes.

ok so went by and looked at the 55 today. I can tell you the current lowest price is not much lower than the listed price. The owner has the truck on the lot so take that for what it's worth. I told them what they could realistically see but I would share the info.

On a side note I priced out some new tires while I was there and they were very reasonable. Said they charge 10 over invoice. 4 35x12.50 15 Mickey Thompson MTZ, mounted, balanced and out the door was $950. I'll be buying tires from them real soon.

Amazing how pictures can tell a different tale depending on the photographer. That truck looked really nice from 20 feet...
I know right. I loved the speaker box in the passenger floor. it was funny as I walked back with my buddy another guy stopped me to tell me that if I was interested that it would need a few parts. He said " there is an issue with the brake line". I said yeah on the right rear its missing the adapter. He said also a window seal. I replied yeah the right rear passenger door is shot. He said he was having trouble finding parts. I told him to call CCOT. Anything else I can do for ya? lol. In all seriousness though, they were were nice and were not trying to play the It's super rare and old and worth bazillions.

Erymer I think you would be happier with a 40.

I have an old SOR Air Pump Eliminator in a bag. Was in a truck I bought. No idea if it's all there. Pulley, fancy bracket etc. Bolts in and replaces air pump. Looks like the bearings need to be pressed in.

Make me an offer

@michaelharrisco or others....... lots of rot but maybe worth a look if a good runner and someones down for some bodywork.

TOYOTA LANDCRUISER FJ40

Looks like a good project vehicle but I would almost guarantee that under all that diamond plate is a ton of rusted out steel. I wouldn't pay that much for it.

Nor would I.

But add two quarters and a rear seal for a grand. A grand with the Tin man. A grand in paint. And depending on negotiated price could be a nice ride for 10k. We can't all find deals like @RYAN BARNARD ;)

You bet, its a lovely winch, you should buy it, for cheap! I change winches like I change wenches, often and always upgrading!

Long story, but the Engo let me down first time I used it for the advanced 4WD class in around Uwharrie. So I am not fooling around with it, I just ask the guys I consider the masters and have never steered me wrong "okay, this is a piece of s***, what should I get" Answer "Superwinch, it has always given us the least amount of trouble in the field". These guys do this everyday, I have never done it. So I am saying "yes sir, order placed". Dont want to deal with the Engo, moving on....

Lesson is, whatever Scott and Mike and Tony and Ron and Karl and the rest of the crew tells me to do, I do it.
What about what someone who is not being sponsored by ARB and Super Winch would tell you from an unbiased opinion? And before they were Super Winch they were all about Warn. That's who they tried to shove down my wife's throat.

Just think you need to get unbiased opinions.

jfz80 Ryan got a bargain from someone who may not have been aware of what they had. On the other hand, this 40 is owned by someone who has an greatly inflated sense of the actual worth and what it will cost to get it fixed. Two quarters, a rear sill and cover plus paint and body and you have got about $4k at Tinman. I would offer no more than $2500 after going through what I have with my 40 rebuild and I am not through yet.

Says the man with 20/20 perspective :)

You say 4 I said 3 grand. Not far off. Was just generalizing and giving Ryan a hard time. His PO knew what they had and wanted it to go to a good home and for the work ahead offered a fair price.

It's all relative. When your 20k in does the 2500 diff in purchase price really bother you? I overpaid for the 45 but have been driving it for 6-7 yes with a s*** eating grin and still see other shoppers of my era still waiting on their unicorn.

I'll quit posting Craig's adds now

Agree with you but his price is better than the fools that list the same thing for 9-12k cause it's a classic worth $$$$. I just put it out here for someone to make their own decisions.
