Selling my 1976 FJ40 - I don't have the time, know how, or money at this point :). Need to get a down payment for a tractor - $3000.00 - hasn't been started since December. I won't be available to show until Wednesday - near Hickory NC, pm for actual location.

Engine has approx 5000 miles on rebuild (done prior to 2008, not by me -info provided by PO) --Crow RV grind cam, new bearings, pistons, rods, lifters, etc; Weber dual 38mm carb, dual Optima red tops (I have removed them as I put in a regular battery to troubleshoot - still have them and the tray is still setup for dual) and Hell Roaring Tech controller, electric fuel pump, HD four core radiator, high output GM alt, oil cooler, K&N air filter, MSD Offroad electronic ignition; driveline is sound--NV4500 (5 spd) mated to rebuilt Toyota 6 cylinder w/Advance Apapters kit, Advance Adapters Orion tcase (92:1 crawl in 4 low), manual lock wheels, e-brake pads replaced and longer cable installed after rebuild (longer tranny); driveline custom made by PHX Driveline b/c of longer NV4500 tranny. Has a ground issue (that's what I think - I am sure the pros here would confirm or say nay). Not trying to squeeze any extra cash - just need it gone and the money.

Vehicle comes w/ARBair locker and used LSD for axles (neither installed). Have some extras - partial transfer case, stock air cleaner, other misc parts, all included. Will take additional pics for anyone interested. Roll cage inside - hard top doesn't quite fit on top on passenger side due to roll cage.

Frame rust is surface rust only, no penetration/holes in frame or rear area.

Not trying to leave out any info - will answer any questions, thx all.

Friggin' steal man! If I hadn't dropped so much coin recently I would buy this and rob the drivetrain for my truck!! GLWTS, shouldn't take long.

ARB Bullbar-winch version for '84 and '85 4runners and trucks. Excellent shape, the holes for the front shackle bolts were moved to fit with an aftermarket front spring hanger but could easily be moved back to stock. $600 obo, located in Auburn, AL

I have all of the bolts and hardware

Link to pics???

Dang. That was quick, but figures for the price and extra's on it. Hope that someone who purchased it will speak up and/or show it off at some point.

I will let him post it up, as right now i will be going to pick it up and then hopefully get it running right. Least that was the plan yesterday. I had just made up my mind to get it and got a phone call to see if i could go pick it up for the other person.

Damn..... well if i'd reacted a little faster you would have been getting the same phone call from me :grinpimp:

I thought I had sent a PM for pics days ago but I must not have hit send..... doh

Actually I would have put the stock trans and t-case in it for Andrea and that Trans - t-case combo would have been 80 bound, with the diesel motor.

Most of it was going in my 40 for next year. Snooze ya loose.

Looks like i will be picking it up next tuesday for the new owner.

Someone needs to speak up!!

I have a 72 in rough shape. Frame is surface rust, no transmission, transfer case, motor is locked up, etc, etc, etc. Needs a lot of TLC. I can send pics of whatever to whoever. I paid $650 for it, looking for that, but if you want it make me an offer. It has a title.

Oh snap! Any history of that motor running poorly or knocking? Running super low on oil?

The oil issue was my next project because its been running low since i got back had to add a quart every few weeks but there was only a few spots in the garage well i dont have to worry about that anymore now just finding an affordable engine is key.

Sent from my iPad using IH8MUD

I got one here that for the right price you can take. Only thing i know about it, is that it supposedly has 77,000 miles on it and it is a 77 model. It ran good when it came in my shop with the rest of the truck.
